Notes
• Edmonds with another great night – 2 walks, a single, and an HR. I admit being wrong about him and thinking he was done. Will he get Player of the Month?
• Marmol needs to stop shaking off his catcher and he also needs to quit walking people. Not sure if he’s trying to be a little too clever out there or if it’s the jitters or what. Just bear down, stay focused, and throw quality strikes!
• Nice at-bat by Soto, settling for the line drive up the middle and knocking in the 4th and 5th runs. Even Mike Murphy is on the Geo bandwagon – today he predicted that Soto would be the greatest Cubs catcher ever.
• Another round goes to Mike Fontenot. Every time I criticize his shortcomings (no pun intended) he goes and hits an HR.
• Cardinals and Brewers won. So be it. I bring up the past seasons of futility as much as anyone here, but now is not the time to develop a mental block about 1969, Bartman, Durham’s glove, etc.. You study the advance scouting reports the best you can and then you go out and hand the competition a loss.
• Can’t wait to get ARam, Johnson, and Zambrano back. Nice to hear Soriano is on track to come back earlier than expected. Another 9-game winning streak would sure help!

Where is our Carlos? You would think, with a mid 90’s fastball, he would just go and dominate….PLEASE, Mr. Marmol, put that slider in yer pocket…..dominate with the fast ball, leave the slider for a secondary pitch….....

Game not on TV here in Denver.
I’m sitting in my computer room holding my portable radio at just the right angle so that WGN Radio is fading in and out, listening to them call the game, watching MLB Gameday. Faded just on Strike three, but I could hear their voices raised in happiness over strike three. Thank God, my arm was getting tired.
We needed this one.
