So wait a minute

We’ve been talking about Rich Hill’s back giving him problems. Someone mentioned that it might have been because he’s tall and lanky so due to “physics” when something goes out of whack, it really goes out of whack. Has Johnson had similar problems?

back problems?

randy johnson’s back is a mess. serious back surgeries, etc.

but i don’t know if they’ve ever manifested themself in the inablity to throw strikes.

I think a split and we win all 4 would be the best would go into friday 4 up on the Cards and 5 on the Brews.

Of course if one sweeps the series and we win all 4.

No matter what we win someone loses games on us.

I find both of these pitchers names very interesting tonight

they could be porn stars out here in the San Fernando Valley. Though Harden may have to change his name slightly.

BTW, are these deep flies to CF similar to what happen in the first game in Houston? I had to listen to that game (no TV).

The first game in Houston

I dont think they really did much of anything. Not near the way they are hitting the ball tonight. They hot a lot of popups but nothing that really traveled very far.

I wasn't complaining.

Show me where I was complaining. You used the game yesterday to show that we could handle the loss of Soriano, but if you watched the game you would see that not all 9 of the runs were scored in typical cubbie fashion (scored throughout the game, scored in the 7th, etc)

by GoCubbies34 on Jul 21, 2008 9:37 PM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

Who gives a damn how they were scored?

You expect every game to be played in “typical Cubbie fashion” (whatever that is)? There are 162 games in a season. There will be highs and lows. Get used to it.

Why dont you look in the mirror

Didn’t even take into account what my comment was just dismissed it since it wasn’t a part of cubbie optimism, sorry everything about this team isn’t heavenly

Last time I checked

the Cubs were among the MLB leaders in offense. That’s not Cubbie optimism, that’s fact.

We can agree to disagree then

But i for one am worried if this team is fortunate enough to get to the world series and face the tough al pitching staffs, seeing how cold our offense looked against the al this year

The Cardinals looked like absolute crap down the stretch in 2006, and look what they did. And the Mariners won 116 games and got bounced right away.

Enjoy the season. Don’t obsess over everything so much.

have you noticed the generous strike zone for both pitchers?

that is not going to make it easier on either offense tonight. it is going to make all the batters look bad. you can’t be patient when you know the strike zone is bigger than normal. it sucks, but accept it.
