If he gives up the game winning homerun it is certainly not his fault
It’s our offenses inability to hit this 100 year old dinosaur

I highly doubt they would be criticizing any other pitcher on the staff
who could go 6 innings of 1 hit 1 run ball

how can it be a quality start
IF HE GIVES UP THE GAMEWINNING HOMERUN???
I have no issue with Harden, if he can stay healthy, which is something I hope for, but do not expect.
But he does not walk on water, and he’s not the best pitcher in baseball. The best starting pitchers in baseball go deeper in the games they start.

A quality start is considered at least 6 innings of 3 runs or less
I’d say he has met that quota perhaps you wouldn’t be as harsh if our offense actually had a pulse

but this is getting a little bothersome….because this is exactly what they did in the playoffs last year. 1 or 2 games fine, but this team cannot continue to go into prolonged offensive funks (by their superstars) and expect to go on to bigger things..

Feast or famine offense has been trademark Cubs the last decade
That seemed to change with Kosuke. But with him in a nosedive the offense has gone back to being feast or famine. Which is not a good development.

That's what it seems like
Kosuke is the key to the offense, when hes patient the team is patient, and as of late, thats been the case
"This is why Major League Baseball does not need instant replay, because then every single play will then be reviewed." -- Joe Morgan, 5/18/08, referring to an umpire ruling a Carlos Delgado homerun foul when replays showed it hit the foul pole.

Not really
Kosuke has slumped a bit for the last month and the offense has been inconsistent at best over that time.
Calm down.

Outstanding performance once again by ace Rich Harden
Bob Howry coming in does not inspire confidence.
