Around SBN: Steve McNair Found Shot to Death

Cubs fans are classy!

Hey, I've been noticing a lot of angry spirits on this site lately.  What is the deal?  Listen, I know it is very hot outside, and that makes people grumpy, but let's continue to keep our site classy.  We are all Cubs fans so we have no reason to hate on each other.  Don't be a maddog, just sip your bluekoolaide and don't try princefieldersdiet because we all know that being a mad, fat, dehydrated guy on a hot day makes us grumpy.  Trust me, I know from experience!  Let's do a better job of being peaceful so Al doesn't have to be the violation police.  Also if you've ever been to the Evil BCB, we don't want to end up like them.

This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of SB Nation or Al Yellon, editor-in-chief (unless it's a FanPost posted by Al). FanPost opinions are valued expressions of opinion by passionate and knowledgeable baseball fans.

Welcome

Cubs2410, and I think you will find that Al does a great job of running this site and most of the time people here are very nice to each other.

Very well said

like I’ve been saying, it’s okay to disagree-that’s part of the fun of a fansite, but you can do it while treating people with respect-ultimately we’re all here for the same reason; because we love the Cubs.

I think its been so tense b/c of the week off for the ASG

and then the awful series w/ the Astros.

Things’ll go back to fun when we hit again. :-)

Just do what I do when we lose… stay out of the game threads. Way less irritating.

You're right.

Sometimes, after a particularly tough loss, I want to commiserate with other people who understand but, yeah, there’s way too much tension and anger on the game threads at times like that-it tends to only add to my already bad mood. I have a feeling that a lot of people feel the same way.

Buster Olney said a few days ago that the Braves would entertain offers for their 26 year old shortstop (who makes 450k) Yunel Escobar. He is a plus bat, a solid defender, and would move Theriot to his more appropriate position at second.

They are looking for a bat in return. Apparently Cox doesn't like the guy.

I couldn't even speculate what we'd have to send them in return, but I think he would be a good fit given his low salary, his productive bat, his position, and his age. I don't care if he's a jerk if he makes the team win more.

What would it take?
