LET'S GO CUBS!
’’If somebody had told me we were going to lose Soriano for eight weeks, lose [Carlos] Zambrano and Kerry Wood for a couple of weeks apiece, and then at the same time lose [Reed] Johnson, and then when we played the American League not have a DH [then-injured Daryle Ward], and be in first place by two games, I’d tell you we were pretty fortunate.’’ Lou Piniella (7/23/08)

My main issue with cycling right now is that they have more doping problems than the MLB

fair enough.
although, i think things are getting better. there are plenty of “good guys” in the tour and in pro riding elsewhere. but, yeah, it’s sometimes tough to know who they are.

I hope they can clean it up because the Tour is one of the hardest things on earth to do

No predictions....just
happy he’s back and hopefully give this team a moral boost.
Carlos Zambrano and Rich Harden. Now that's a pair of Aces.
Another reason to be glad when this series ends...
Watching on MLB.tv, the Diamondbacks have what may very well be the most unprofessional broadcast ever.
Not sure
But they did their open in the middle of some section in the bleachers in T-shirts and looking ridiculous.
Last season he spent 3 or 4 innings one night just wandering the stands and talking to himself
All of this was heard by those of us watching
Missouri Tigers 2008 Cotton Bowl Champs
i love grace
question his broadcasting skills i can understand, but the homer in me will never forget his time as a cub…..plus who else sings the 7th inning stretch as a member of the opposing team and still says “root root root for the CUBBIES”?
Brenly doesn't...
wander the stands
have ridiculous catchphrases (“Gas” ... what is that?)
act like a buffoon in the booth
tell inside jokes
This is my first time here,
so fair enough. I don’t want to say too much since I also work in the industry and don’t need to be overly critical.
Just something I noticed at the start.
all in all
most of the bloggers on here love BB like you and hate grace…..i’m in the minority and find myself defending the topic every other day…..no big deal it’s just friendly talk, i just really dislike BB’s work
I expect it too.
I don’t expect anything from him tonight and mayebe the next few games.
Carlos Zambrano and Rich Harden. Now that's a pair of Aces.
It may
I don’t look for him to shoot out of the gates.
I am just happy he is back.
It did last time...
So I’d say yeah…at least a few, but ya never know.

Ted Lilly
Home of the quality start. He will give us what other teams crave, 6 solid with 3 runs or less.
You gotta think that the pitchers are under tons of pressure to be perfect...
with the offense we have right now…..it must be incredibly frustrating to the guy on the mound to giive up a couple of runs and realize that the game may be outta reach for our lame bats…...hold on Ted and maybe we can find a way to scratch out 2 more runs….
If we get what we just got from our starters every time around
We will win a lot of games
Missouri Tigers 2008 Cotton Bowl Champs
Why are you ripping Lilly?
Are our SP supposed to throw shutouts every game. Sometimes pitchers miss their spots. I’d be more focused on the offense getting beat by a retread named Doug Davis. Quick quiz—when was the last time Fukudome hit a ground ball?
What will be classic is when we get back to Wrigley, start knocking the ball around again and people will forget how god-awful this team is on the road—until September when we are basically on the road the entire month and will feel the pain.
That is something they really have to fix though.

you're taking it
out of context.

His ERA is only slightly above the MLB average
Not bad for a number 4 or 5 starter

With Sheets going for them tomorrow they have an excellent chance at getting the sweep

Question
Valverde or Papelbon--Valverde acting like a caveman or that stare on Papelbon—WHO would you rather kick in the face with your spikes?
"Hey.....Cubs win!!!" ---Harry
"Swung on belted!!!"---Chip
that is really tough, but I gotta go Valverde

Night Drew.
Hope you wake up to a Cubs victory.
Carlos Zambrano and Rich Harden. Now that's a pair of Aces.
The Brewers are in it to win it folks....and C.C. scares the hell outta me....
I know their bullpen sucks and they are managed by a circus clown but man oh man they are not going away…..we best man up soon or we may be looking at the wildcard as an option…..
Hot and Cold
This is what happens when a team is cold, like the Cubs, and they play a team that is getting hot, like the DBacks.
Every hit finds the hole, every swing finds the gap, every pitch finds the strikezone. Conversely, every pitch looks better than it is and the batter swings at something they would never swing at normally, and every hard hit ball finds a the other teams glove. Only way this ends is when that momentum switches to the other side…Yeah, all right Edmonds. That can get us started!!!!!!!!!!!!
Don't blow it boys!
same here
once in a while though. i don’t want him loosing control

Don't blow it boys!
Ted Lilly
for our new leadoff hitter…look at him creating runs.
"I'm gonna make you cry...I'm gonna make you cry and dip my cookie in your tears!!!"
THAT'S why I hate the DH

First pitch swinging
Dumb. Give Lilly a breather.
If you like Selig's handling of the steroid issue, you'll love his choice for next Cub owner.
Exactly. Davis on ropes and he bails him out

We are on the same page tonight
Tell me why when we take the lead 4 – 2, that pissed me off more than I was happy about the lead.

Now let me tell ya why that was a terrible AB by our #3 hitter
Our pitcher just basically ran around the bases and you swing at the first pitch. Please at least take one pitch so that Lilly can at least grab a gatorade

HEY WAIT A MINUTE!
I thought we were leading 4-2, how come they have the score 4-3 DBacks??
