I am getting ready to leap jump, R U?
Looking at this thing realistically, I hate to say it, but I think that the Brewers have a much better offense than we do, equal starting pitching, equal bullpen, worse defense, and equal bench. With all of this said, if you look at the funk we are in, and look at the remaining schedule, the Brewers have a HUGE advantage. I beleive they will win the division. I am really fearful of them after thinking we had it made. I think Hendry will only make 1 more minor deal such as a right-handed bat off the bench. There will be no other help coming. Most of all, if we don’t have a 7 game lead headed into Sept., I think we are in deep trouble. I would like to know your thoughts and convince me that I am (hopefully) wrong! Thanks. I need a few drinks watching this game!

What's the point?
Seriously. Sept. is 2 months away. At the rate of posted fanpost’s around here, this will be off the main page in 45 minutes. Let’s discuss the standings as they are Wednesday or Thursday. Speculating on the standings months away seems very silly to me.

This is almost an identical post to another one
in another thread. How strange.

Huh?
Rotation actually 1-5 edge to the Cubs.
Bullpen advantage Cubs
Lineup slight advantage Brewers\
Defense advantage Cubs
Go Cubs
Too Early
division doesn’t mean anything to me, if the Cubs make the playoffs thats all that matters. Get there and then take care of business. It’s only July folks.
September
is NOT 2 months away. It’s 5 1/2 weeks. The Cubs Bullpen has not been good and Wood is now out until who knows when. They just said he is not healing and will be seeing another Dr. in Chicago tomorrow. If and when Wood comes back he will be rusty. Meanwhil Marmol and Howry are less than stellar. The Brewers have a better offense period.
You go root for your Brewers then
Go root for your Brewers then and we’ll keep on rooting for the Cubs,

Harsh
That was harsh man. I am simply pointing out some facts and expressing myself as a die-hard who is frustrated. Brewers won again and now e are down 2-1.
Calm My Friend
who cares, honestly, the division doesn’t mean a thing and I would rather be hot like the Brewers in the end of September into October.
Actually the division does mean something
If the Cubs win the division, they would most likely play the NL West winner. If they win the wild card, they most likely would play the NL East winner. And if the first several months are any indication, I think I’d rather the Cubs play the West winner.

And the wild card winner
can never have home field advantage in a playoff series.

Except in game 2 of the DBacks series last year.

If you were really a die-hard
You’d stick with the Cubs instead of being such a pessimist. Seriously, an attitude of “Oh, we’re not gonna win the division!” is not the right attitude in the MIDDLE OF JULY unless the team you’re talking about is the Pirates or something.
CUBS WIN! CUE THE ORCHESTRA!
true
If you are going to be hot, thats the best time to do so. I just want to be able to get to the playoffs.
it might help folks reading this thread if you would use the reply feature when posting responses

And Wood
I really doubt Wood is out for much longer. Probably early next week. I think people overreact to the word specialist.

I hope you're right...
But, man. I think this could only happen to Wood.

How about we stop these posts
The ledge jumping, negative posts really suck especially when there’s at least one new one every day. HAVE YOU NOT BEEN A CUBS FAN BEFORE THIS YEAR? All this team needs is a good streak, something they’ve already done. Relax and try to enjoy these games.
Uhh
I believe this was “leap-jumping”.
Calm down.

Cub Fan
I have been a Cub fan since 1966 my friend. That is exactly why I am freaking out. I want to win soooo bad, I can taste it. Please…before I die! A good streak would be nice, but you have to look at the schedule. The Brewers have it really, really easy. They play 19 more games vs. teams with winning records. We have almost twice that amount.
Please, God, make it stop
I can’t take any more of these threads. Can’t you go play on the freeway or something?

At any rate
The wild card is bound to come out of the central. No matter what happens in the central, I’d expect to see both the Cubs and the Brewers in the playoffs this October.
+1.5
I would rather have home field though especially looking at things today. This has to be improved by September.
This is only the beginning....Lou Pinella end of '07 season and Chicago Transit Authority (the band when they were really good).
I guess we'll see
Who truly is the better team in the upcoming series. But do you guys think the Cardianls, now at three games back, are falling out of it?

You sir, being a Cubs fan since 1966,
means you’ve been a baseball fan since then as well. You know it’s too early to worry this much. Go to the spa, get a massage, make love to your wife, pray to whatever god you worship- but don’t worry.
Be glad that the Cubs are struggling a little bit now, instead of in Sept. Remember that the Brewers are still young, talented yes, but young and inexperienced. Remember the Brewers have Ned Yost as a manager. Remember that the Brewers are spent, they don’t have the means left to make a significant trade if they would need to. We have Lou Piniella, one of the best. We have Jim Hendry, who is also known as “wild Jim”, when it comes to trades. Don’t think for a minute that he will only make one minor trade, he’s got carte blanche from the money men.
Breathe in, breathe out… Relax.

Im not sure
Why I get on this blog in the morning and open up these posts. It just ruins my morning and gets me all irratated and annoyed, especially after the Cubs performance last night. You’d think the Brewers made the playoffs last year.
Relax and know that this post is a minority viewpoint.
Also, I can’t figure out what a “leap jump” is. Anyone?

Or maybe like leap frog?

I look at them as more of entertainment now
like…”Ha! What could this guy ACTUALLY have to complain about with this team”. Though I am guilty of posting on Howry’s suckitude but cmon, the guy just sucks. Otherwise, take a different approach and laugh because this guy doesn’t know solid play when he sees it.
Calm down.
