Dave, you are among friends.

And this will go no further than the four virtual walls of this blog. No one in St. Louis needs to know. Your secret is safe with us.

One of the things that make this such a great rivalry...

is that you guys can still have a sense of humor!
Is there anybody here than can remember the old Chicago Cardinals?
I’ll take one of THOSE jersey’s!

You know what the right thing to do is Dave. Come to the light!

Or kissing your cousin.

Who actually isn’t your cousin but you find out later that she is but then she isn’t because you find out your aunt was adopted and isn’t actually your dad’s sister.

Also Root for Redbirds (AAA, though)

I root for the “real” Redbirds in Memphis. I hate Mike Shannon calling the Cardinals the Redbirds. Though, most of my Cardinals friends love that. I’m glad the Memphis team is not called the Cardinals. I wish they were called the Chicks. My favorite major league team is the Chicago Cubs. I root for Chicago against St. Louis and root for Memphis against Iowa.

Seriously?

Whoa…I guess I’m pretty Bold rooting for Iowa over here in ABQ when they play the Isotopes. But truth be told that Iowa team means more to me than the Topes ever will…of course I still support Topes baseball with my wallet…but not my heart.

Cardinals

The football Cardinals are the equivalent of the Cubs. Check out their history. One playoff game win in the last 60 yrs. As I like to say, you can take the Cardinals out of Chicago, but you can’t take the “Chicago” out of the Cardinals!

Big Red's Awful History

The football Cardinals haven’t been to the playoffs since 1998. They beat the Cowboys in the playoffs that season. They haven’t had a 10-win regular season since 1976. There have been no division titles since 1975. Don Coryell was the coach then. They haven’t been to an NFL championship game since 1948 and haven’t won an NFL championship since 1947.

If you are already a fan of the football Cardinals

I don’t think I can with a clear conscience encourage you to also root for the Cubs. That takes a level of masochism that I can’t even fathom.

Short, actually.

I think a girl is involved. (He is almost 13.)

This year he’s on the Astros. I can’t seem to talk the league into letting him on the Cubs.

I do remember wearing a Chicago baseball hat to a Cards/Cubs game.

under the comments where it says “actions” and 0 recs?

by Dave Pendleton on Jul 24, 2008 5:08 PM CDT   1 recs

Under actions...

You can “flag” a post (basically alerting the administration if there’s bad language, trolling, etc.) or you can “rec” (short for recommend) a post. This pushes the post up towards the top of the sidebar on the right where it says “Recommended Fanposts”.

Show Us Your BCB T-Shirt

I ran this idea by Al, and he liked it. I thought I'd be fun to get folks to upload pictures of them in their BCB t-shirt. It gives more exposure to Project 3000 and is also a fun way to share who we are.

Al noted "It would be especially cool if people who don't live in Chicago would take the photo at a recognizable location in wherever they live. If you do this, remind people that it's just for fun -- I know some are sensitive about privacy, but if anyone is willing to post a pic like this, it'd be great."

So let's see it, BCB pride!

(p.s. if you all like the idea, recommend this FanShot... it will keep the exposure up and give folks who want to participate time to upload there photo.)

(p.s.s. Order your BCB/Project 3000 t-shirt here)
