No
It’s a freaking Gatorade commercial. It was on during the All-Star game.
And it was so two weeks ago.

Of course fake
First of all, it looks fake (especially if you watch the replay), secondly no one would be able to do that, third the announcer would be going much more crazy, fourth if she actually did that she’d probably lose her job, and fifth, yes, it was a gatorade commercial.

we could’ve used her back in ‘03

And if you spent 11 seconds looking this up...
...you’d see it’s been Snopes-checked as fake.

saw something on how it was made...
the outfielder was actually an infielder for the team (for some reason got picked to be the “outfielder” for the commercial). They used some sort of rope/harness system to get the girl up that high and filmed all night after the real team played a game.

He's right.
This one would have been a better FanShot. In fact, I posted this myself in the FanShot section exactly a month ago.

As I posted then...
Sadly… it is not real. If you look at the white logo on the catcher’s chest protector, it switches shoulders during the commercial. Apparently, it’s part of a Gatorade commercial (opens in new window).

I've figured something out
About Fanposts, and Fanshots…it reminds me alot of fishing. Because Fanposts and Fanshots are like fishing lures. You go out and find this video or link LURE that has a chance to catch the “big one” but your afraid of throwing it in the lake and snagging it (ie; posting—old info, incorrect info, or no info, just plain dumb). In addition, whos to say the lure is any good anyway? More knowledgable or experienced “fishermen” may have figured out it is a dud. As in the case of the above Fanpost. But being the daredevils that some of us are you toss it out anyway…and Booom, its gets tangled up in an embarassing mess, in front of a bunch of on-lookers. Again…like this Fanpost. I feel your pain fuzzycubfan…but like all fishing stories, you can always lie about it to your friends.

Wow..
relax everyone. I just wanted to prove it to my wife that it was fake. Unlike many here, I no longer spend every waking moment on BCB. (Mostly due to the rude nature of the posters here and AL justifying it). This site used to be more enjoyable back when everyone had a sense of humor and weren’t mudslinging. But that all left when cubbiejulie left…...
Can't wait for the Cubs in '08!!!
