Around SBN: Win or Lose, Boston Celtics' New Big 3 Era A Success

It's Moving Day

Here's a list of Cubs I'm tired of seeing on a day-to-day basis:

Bob Howry -- It's been real, Bob. Go ply your trade with the Yankees.

Daryle Ward -- Seriously, does this guy bring anything to the table? Aren't there 1,000 guys who could strike out with the bases loaded and have no real position in the field?

Jason Marquis -- I'm just tired of him. It was a mistake to get him and it's been a mistake to keep him.

Others who are on the verge:

Jim Edmonds -- It was fun while it lasted, Jimmy. But maybe the Padres did know what they were doing.

Kerry Wood -- A freaking blister? A FREAKING BLISTER???? He won't be back until Aug. 15 at this rate

Alfonso Soriano -- Still waiting for your hot start, big man.

This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of SB Nation or Al Yellon, managing editor (unless it's a FanPost posted by Al). FanPost opinions are valued expressions of opinion by passionate and knowledgeable baseball fans.

Wow

Someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed today. Granted, im not big on Marquis or Howry right now, but the others are OK. Though im guessing you missed Edmonds 2b today?

Toni Kukoc...

Used to steal a ball once in a while too. The sun shines on a dog’s ass from time to time.

Kind of like

your posts. This one is moronic. I think the dog’s ass you refer to, knows more about baseball than you do.

Actually he has only one side to his bed and

it falls on the pits of dispair

Edmonds & Marquis

Have been playing well of late…

Edmonds has been one of the few hitters doing anything in July.

by Texas Wahoo on Jul 25, 2008 5:23 PM CDT reply actions

Exactly

and if you get rid of Marquis, who is going to pinch run for Edmonds? :-)

I agree, let's replace

Soriano with the Hoff, and Wood with Hart…what a great idea. Or would you like to have Griffey and David Weathers instead? I would rather see a post about the posters I’m tired of seeing on a daily basis.

Definitely a weak post

I have no problem with complaining but this post is uncalled for. All baseball teams go through peaks and valleys throughout the season.

Soriano is still getting his timing back

I’d rather be safe than sorry with Kerry Wood. Jim Edmonds has been great. I don’t know what you’re complaining about.

You have no clue.

They lost today. The Cubs are obviously finished.

by ScottT on Jul 25, 2008 5:41 PM CDT up reply actions

Yep, get rid of them all

Add DLee to that list. All the GIDPs this year, enough is enough! DFA him!

Dome hasn’t hit anywhere near the number of HRs we thought. Worthless. Maybe we can get a sack of dirty jocks for him.

Z isn’t striking out as many people as normal. He’s finished.

Lilly is garbage. Package him with Marquis and maybe the Cubs can get some washed up minor leaguer for roster filler.

Wood, no doubt, a blister!!! Obviously, he just can’t stay healthy. Put him on the trash heap.

ARam struck out once with RISP, too. Waste of space. He’s washed up.

And let that be a lesson to the rest of the Cubs players. If you lose another game, the rest of you scrubs are going to be cut, too! So sayeth DaBard!!!!

Howry Is Legitimate Complaint

He has got to be perform well for the Cubs. Wood is out for an indefinite period of time. Marmol has been shaky of late. Shark is new to the big leagues. Without a good Howry, the Cubs are going to lose a lot of games after the 7th. I am tired of his ineffectiveness. The Cubs may have to make a move to bolster the pen. Cotts has been the best reliever of late.

I'm going to have to agree with Howry...

He is just too hittable now. I don’t know what his problem is, but we have to do something…he simply cannot be trusted in close games. The look on my face when I hear he is coming in is similar to that of when I accidentally drink sour milk.

Try

throwing a fastball with a blister. see how that works for ya.

You shouting about the blister...

Somehow tells me that you have never been a pitcher before. Being one myself, I can tell you that you don’t pitch with those. It doesn’t work. Sorry to burst your bubble.

by Hren on Jul 25, 2008 8:03 PM CDT reply actions

ok...wow...dont know what to say.

how about, howry isnt one of my favorite cubs right now. ward is probably on that list too. marquis has been startable lately. jimmy has been great, esp since he was the best hitter arguably in july. wood has been good. nitpick, if he hasnt been pitching, how have you heard about him day to day? soriano has been back for three games….three games!!! calm down on him…he hasnt been horrid in his return.

i would have to say my only complaint is that our superstars(dlee, dome, Aram, soto(?)) need to step it up alot…im not saying they are trash or anything like that. just saying it would be nice to see them return to form…they have small successes here and there, but really would like to see them go off on a hitting tangent!! if soriano gets hot, he will be leading team HR’s by alot probably while playing 40+ less games then most of the others
