Weak...
No game in Tallahassee, SUN Sports is not showing it, TBS is blacked out, and can’t watch on MLB.tv. Florida’s blackout rules are ridiculous, 5 hours from Tampa Bay and 10 hours from Florida and we get blacked out.
4 hours from Chicago
and my TBS is blacked out too

Carlos Zambrano and Rich Harden. Now that's a pair of Aces.
Less than 400 at a Marlins game in September of 07....?
At a 3A high school soccer game on Monday, about 400 people came out to watch Western Guilford play rival Western Alamance. It’s estimated, meanwhile, that fewer than 400 people attended the Florida Marlins’ 5-4 extra-innings victory over the Washington Nationals on Wednesday.
..
After seeing highlights of this game, I’d say that 400 is a generous figure.
This could be an underexageration, but I wouldnt doubt thats its true.. more important might be the soccer mom in the picture

There is still a lot of ballgame to go.

is NOT a fulltime outfielder. Dome’s defense makes up for a lot.

No, I hope that they don't fall apart...cause if they do...Dear God, I will fall apart...
But….I won’t have faith…I have no reason to. I will just Hope/Pine/Wish/Cheer/Cry/Scream/and hope some more. But Faith? Based on what?
"I'll be deep in the cold, cold ground before I recognize Missourah." - Abe Simpson
You either have faith

Carlos Zambrano and Rich Harden. Now that's a pair of Aces.
Sorry....but you haven't walked in my shoes...
I am happy for you that everything works out. For me, the teams that I root for (Cubs, Hawkeyes, Chiefs) haven’t been kind to me in my lifetime. Some ups…yes. Unfortunately…many more downs. Now, the teams that I played for, and coach currently…much better. But, I am not just a observer in those, but I can have a larger impact.
"I'll be deep in the cold, cold ground before I recognize Missourah." - Abe Simpson
I'm not talking about sports so much.
I’m talking life in general. I couldn’t go through life like some on here evidently do expecting the worst all the time. They are ball games played by humans. Humans are not perfect so some days you win (like today :D ) and some days you lose. There are so many things in this world right now more important than ball games.
Carlos Zambrano and Rich Harden. Now that's a pair of Aces.

My reading on these threads the following day is based on the team’s performance. If they win, I will check out gameday, and get my stats and it’s all good. Hooray. I am happy.
When they lose, I read the threads. Why, you ask? Because I want the unfiltered, unfettered analysis that you people give. You won’t get fined by MLB for saying that an umpire is full of crap or that a player made a bonehead play. I want an autopsy. I want to know what went wrong.

That is for sure. My thoughts are that if the Cubs play like they should they take 3 or sweep. That maybe a rosy outlook. But, what am I going to say? they will lose?

I need some cowbell and more Fonty in the lineup
I don’t know if anyone has a stat for Cubs record when Fonty starts, but dang, he just always seems to come up clutch. I would love to see him back in the lineup at second more regularly with Theriot, and Dero (who I really like) going back to the super sub role. At least long enough to ride out Dero’s slump and Fonty’s hot streak.

He has the swagger as I said before. It’s a confidence that just screams when he is on the mound. Most impressive. If Marmol takes control of his fastball again and has some confidence it is most impressive.

Nope.
I really think that it is time for him to go, but they won’t DFA him. No one will take him, and they won’t eat that salary. I think that Marshall will go. They don’t need three lefties in the pen, and he really is more of a starter than a reliever. The relief role isn’t for him. The cubs don’t have the stones to say see you later to Howry. Pinella still hasn’t lost enough faith in him to bury him on the bullpen bench. He still STILL puts him into close games.
"I'll be deep in the cold, cold ground before I recognize Missourah." - Abe Simpson
but don't kid yourself. Marshall is the perfect 2-3 inning guy to have in Harden's starts, even if he finishes
the games some times if we (ever!) can have 3-4 run leads. Harden will never go more than 6-7 innings, so it will be great to have Marshall as a lefty 2-3 inning guy for those games. And you may have Marshall start when you want another lefty in a series (with Lilly) when a team has a bad record against lefties. The guy can have an important role on this team.
THIS IS OUR CENTURY!!
And that piggy backing helps force line up shuffles too
b/c they’re going to load up on LHBs for Harden… then you bring in the Lanky Lefty Sean…

What about a phantom injury?
That way Howry can leave and make room for the Shark. Howry gets put on the 15 day DL and the Cubs can see if he has anything left in his tank. Marshall I think is too important as an innings eater. He is much better than Lieber.
Now this...this may happen
"I'll be deep in the cold, cold ground before I recognize Missourah." - Abe Simpson
This is the year of the phantom injury being overused by teams...
the may need to alter how the disabled list works if this continues…
So far I know that the cubs and cardinals have both used the disabled list in this fashion.
"I'll be deep in the cold, cold ground before I recognize Missourah." - Abe Simpson
Don't think the phanton injury is being used any more this year than in the past.
Maybe they need to have a mental DL?

it is not a phantom injury
when Lou has Tanya Harding take a tire iron to Howry’s right knee cap.
THIS IS OUR CENTURY!!
It was Tanya Harding's boyfriend.
And if Howry does go on the DL, it needs to be for something like what Kaz Matzui had earlier this year – an anal fissure. That way no one asks because they assume something that embarrassing must be real.

The Cubs are making it pretty obvious what is going to happen.
Marshall will probably go into the 5th starter’s spot in place of Marquis, (who will be DFA’d if they find anybody willing to take some of his ‘09 money. Howry will be DFA’d, because it is obvious he is finished. The Shark will close until Woody gets back, and then he’ll be the other primary RH set-up guy with Marmol.

Marshall is WAY too valuable to let go
He can start if God Forbid one of our starters go down.
He’s a great lefty out of the pen who can give you 2+ innings in a bad situation.
There is no way he goes away

the shark
i am wondering if the shark continues to enjoy success out of the bullpenm whether that would preclude him from a starter’s role in the future
It may for the rest of the year
But, going into spring training I am sure that they would give him a fair shot at it.
theres no rule that just b/c you're good in the pen for a while
that you have to stay there. Lots were saying that he could be our Joba… lock down the pen for a while and then take over for a spot in the rotation.
I personally really like the idea. He can help stablize the ‘pen and then take over the rotation when Marquis leaves at the end of his contract.
