Best "baseball" prank ever
Don't know if anyone saw this or not, but I thought it was hilarious. I'm all for pranks, but I bet this guy lost a couple of friends over this one. Nevertheless, it's a great video clip and certainly worth a few chuckles. Enjoy!
As for our beloved Cubs, I am looking forward to the second half and hope we can go on another tear similiar to earlier in the year!!

Cubs pranks
I think the “costume fest” the Cubs do to the rookies each year are hysterical.
I remember the video of the team last year. Mike Fontenot in a dress was pretty funny. I also recall seeing pictures from prior years. Ronny Cedeno as Betty Rubble and Ryan Theriot as a cheerleader. Anyone know where those photos live? They’re pretty funny.

I want to see this year's veterans...
... attempt to explain to Kosuke Fukudome why he has to leave the clubhouse dressed in a skirt and wig one day.

I'm a little suspicious...
...that the whole thing is staged. The slap seemed a bit much. If it’s real, I would have to think Streety Bird broke that guy’s glasses with his fist.

Montreal supported the Expos when they were good and the stadium wasn’t falling to ill-conceived pieces. They simply needed a stable, deep-pocketed owner.

1979-1983 Expos Attendance
During that stretch, the Expos were always anywhere between 2nd and 4th in the NL in attendance. It helped that the Canadiens were ending their late 70’s Stanley Cup run as the Expos were starting a run of good seasons in 1979. Montreal was the parent club of the Memphis Chicks back then. The Chicks had their best attendance years during that same time period. The Expos used to have a really good organization.

Montreal the city changed...
... from 1968, when the franchise was granted, to the 1990’s, when it began to fail.
The French separatist movement sent a lot of English-speaking Montrealers, and businesses, to Toronto and Vancouver. In 1968 Montreal was the largest city in Canada and the center of its business world. Now it’s third, and there are few English-speakers left. That was the baseball fan base. If you were thinking of putting a major league franchise in Montreal now, it’d be like putting one in France.

I love Montreal
but it’s xenophobia is a disease. Vancouver, on the other hand, deserves a top notch major league baseball team. I bet they’d attract a strong fan base especially given their Pacific Rim demographic. What a city!

Problem with Vancouver...
... close to Seattle… many people there are already Mariners fans. Also, the stadium is like the Metrodome in Minneapolis, not really suited to baseball.

Sad to See Expos Decline and Move
Towards the end of the Expos stay in Montreal in the early 2000’s, the AAA Memphis Redbirds were outdrawing the Expos. Was this the same franchise that just 20 years earlier was contending and drawing well as the parent club of the AA Memphis Chicks in the early 1980’s? Montreal was my 2nd favorite NL team back then. Tim Raines, Tim Wallach, Charlie Lea, Bryn Smith, Bill Gullickson, and Scott Sanderson all came through Memphis. To see the decline of the Expos and their move to Washington was tough on me. I can’t see major league baseball coming back to Montreal.

Even if it was staged
I’m still wiping the tears away… that cracked me up. Love that web site.

Upon further investigation...
Definitely staged. There is a skit on the same site with both the glasses guy and the slapped guy. 100% fake!

No way is that real
The guy’s response to being slapped was way too fake-among other things-absolutely staged for the cameras
