I thought RJ and
Sori were going to collide out there.
Carlos Zambrano and Rich Harden. Now that's a pair of Aces.

YES!
they STILL don’t score!
’’If somebody had told me we were going to lose Soriano for eight weeks, lose [Carlos] Zambrano and Kerry Wood for a couple of weeks apiece, and then at the same time lose [Reed] Johnson, and then when we played the American League not have a DH [then-injured Daryle Ward], and be in first place by two games, I’d tell you we were pretty fortunate.’’ Lou Piniella (7/23/08)

that's 3 men left in scoring position with 2 outs for the brew crew
they’re gonna start pressing sooner or later…

either both pitchers are making pitches in critical situations
or the hitters are pressing and not delivering.
Obviously, I think Dempster is doing a great job. :-)

I’ll take giving up extra-base hits to the pitcher as long as the rest of the lineup hits like this.

cwyers...
Do you know if the stats back up the “Pitcher-on-the-basepaths-has-a-bad-inning” theory?
Is there really any way to find that out without digging through a ton of BR boxscores?

I don't think there's any way to tell...
...other than going through the play-by-play data, no. Retrosheet offers the PBP data from 1956 on for download, and you can parse it with tools and then sift through it with database software. If you’re really interested, try adding it to the Ask a Sabermagician link below so I remember it.

We're talking about a team that's in a race trading a future HOFer while he's still productive.
I’d say that’s worth talking about.

Remember – most people watch about 10-15 minutes of these channels at a time, so they cycle the content. It’s the concept behind Headline News.
