Joe Borowski a Cub again?

I'm not entirely sure if this is true, considering I haven't seen it on any credible sites, but when I was randomly "wiki-ing", it stated that "On July 29, 2008 he signed a one year contract for a second stint with the Chicago Cubs." Take it for whatever its worth...

If this is true, I am pretty disappointed and hope that the Cubs don't rely on him that much. I live near Cleveland and when he was pitching, you just knew he was going to do something bad. Pretty much like Dempster last year...

Brilliant!

I'm thinking you weren't burdened with an overabundance of schooling, so why don't we just ignore each other til we go away.

Need more than a wiki to validate this...

and I’d seriously doubt that any contract he signs would be a Major League one. That said, I hope it’s not true.

As I've told you before, I never repeat myself.

Well, the Cubs minor league system...

...has to replace Samardzija one way or another.

That's a subtle piece of Wikipedia vandalism

The Bob Hope entry was really abused on the day I went there to look up his bio.

If anyone had signed a contract with the Cubs yesterday, it would have had 7 FanPosts and 437 comments already dedicated on this site by now.

My next sig line quote will also be from Lou Piniella, and the first word will be either "Look", or "Listen", followed by a comma.

So someone actually had the idea

to vandalize a Wikipedia entry. And he chose Joe Borowski. Wow.

I'm thinking you weren't burdened with an overabundance of schooling, so why don't we just ignore each other til we go away.

Absolutely nothing on Google News

about this.

Either Joe or his agent posted that on Wiki, or someone is vandalizing Wikipedia.

I guess you can figure out which one is more likely.

Although as someone said, having Borowski pitch mop-up for Iowa isn’t a terrible idea. Just don’t let him back in Wrigley.

Borowy . . .Sutcliffe . . .Harden?

Josh, no pun intended for “sweaty joe”?

i reverted the vandalism

I edit wikipedia from time to time, I reverted the changes as they needed to be referenced. Looks like vandalism to me.

Only JoBo news I see...

...is this article from the Cleveland Plain Dealer on the 27th. No mention of the Cubs.

—-—-—-
Joe Borowski, cut by the Indians after leading the American League with 45 saves last year, threw for Boston and Detroit on Saturday in Tempe, Ariz.

He said his agent has talked to eight other teams since being designated for assignment and released by the Indians on July 4.

[snip]

Borowski said his trainers in Arizona found some collateral damage caused by a triceps injury that put him on the disabled list in April.

“They found what they said felt like a big knotted rope under my right lat muscle,” said Borowski.

“It was in my right armpit. After they massaged it and dug in there, they finally broke it up a little. It released my arm. I felt like it wasn’t even attached to my body.”

Hmpf.

Just goes to show, nothin’ a good armpit rub can’t cure.

I highly doubt this...

Nothing more credible than Wikipedia...

Iowa Cubs Wikipedia Page

One highlight of Iowa Cubs games is the “hot dog gun,” where a driver in a golf cart shoots hot dogs out of an air compressed cannon into the hungry crowd in between innings. Often the hot dog will explode in mid air in to hundreds of pieces of meat and bun to the delight of fans.

Boy, Ed Wade is an idiot.

What on Earth do the Astros want or need with Hawkins? But this is good news for the Cubs, who can tee off on him next week.
