Does anyone know can stadiums with retractable domes close the roof incase of bad weather to avoid lengthy delays or do they have to leave in the position at start of game?

They can close it with approval of the other team and the umpire crew...

typically play is stopped until the dome is closed, however is most situations the other team will allow play to continue during the closing, as some domes can take 10+ minutes to fully open or close.

I think Miller takes 25-30 minutes for Miller to close

It's at the discretion of the umpire-in-chief

though the ump usually relies on the head groundskeeper for weather reports.

But yes, they can be closed (or opened) during a game.

Edmonds- DFA minium salary hitting .280 as a cub with 12 HR!
Harden- 10ks in 3 games as a cub….1.00 ERA
i am sure i missed someone….oh, the Shark has been pretty impressive as a callup

by Zakh on Jul 31, 2008 2:12 PM CDT up reply actions

Actually, Edmonds isn't even costing the minimum salary.

He is costing a AAA salary, because he simply took Pie’s salary slot and bumped Pie down to AAA.

Arbitration is simply an agreement to settle any potential impasse while staying with a team. The 20% cut rule, and the salary comparison rule don’t apply.

Maybe we will see personal history made for Jimmy today?

Take me out with the crowd.
Buy me some peanuts and cracker jack,
I don’t care if I never get back,
Cause it’s root, root, root for the CUBBIES!
If they don’t win it’s a shame.
For it’s one, two, three strikes, you’re out,
At the old ball game.”
