Baseball on TBS
This Sunday, the Cubs/Cards game will be featured on TBS. I know that in the past, several games have been blacked out. I do not get CSN, but get WGN. Will this game be blacked out for me?
Let us hope that we can take 2 out of 3 from the Red birds!

Where do you live?
That’ll determine whether you are in a blackout area. To determine whether you live in a blackout area, look at this territorial map, although it’s mostly indecipherable and won’t give you a definitive answer. It will make you shake your head at MLB moguls’ idiocy, though.

In a nutshell
If you live in Iowa, Illinois, Arkansas or Oklahoma, you will be blacked out.
If you live in the Racine/Kenosha or Prarie Du Chien areas of Wisconsin, you will be blacked out.
If you live in Missouri, except in the Kansas City media market, you will be blacked out.
If you live in Western Kentucky or Western Tennessee (like Memphis), you will be blacked out.
If you live in Indiana, except for the extreme southern parts around Cincinnati and Louisville, you will be blacked out.
Otherwise you can see the game.
See, it’s simple!

Addendum:
In the St Louis area the TBS feed will be blacked out, but you can watch the local NBC coverage. God awful announcers, graphics, presentation, etc. but at least I get to see the game.
I'm thinking you weren't burdened with an overabundance of schooling, so why don't we just ignore each other til we go away.

LOL! That map is a mess
And there are several really subtle color variations which are practically impossible to differentiate.
All to figure out if Chip Caray will be your play-by-play guy. Sheesh!

yeah, wow...
looks like they just scribbled all over the dang place.
i live in west michigan and have the directv package so i usually get all the games except the saturday ones on fox which usually means the lowly tigers are on instead. WGN-AM also is very spotty in my area.

I still want to know about that area of Nevada
in purple that claims ARI, OAK, SFG, and SDP as “home markets.”
Is that baseball’s answer to “Area 51?” Without consuting a map—is that Fallon AFB??
I mean, there’s nothing there. How can this scrap of desert be so crucial? And why wouldn’t ANA and LAD want some of the action? This is the strangest thing on this entire map.

And, for those in SoCal
There’s a portion of southern Riverside County - it’s almost invisible - that claims LAD, ANA, and SDP. (And, probably extreme Orange County—just north of Camp Pendelton, probably including San Clemente.) I’m guessing this Padres territory is from Lake Elsinore, south, through Murietta and Temecula.
All of the above is in the Los Angeles TV market, so what’s the point? Southern Riverside County is counted as Pads territory, but they cannot see any home games from SD TV. How absurd. It would make sense only if Cox Cable SD imported the games to specific cable systems in about 4 cities. They do not.
How can the Padres claim territory in areas their games cannot be seen in, under any circumstances??? I would assume EI would black out any Padres games.

It's because...
... that map was created long before there was a “Cox Cable 4” that carried Pads games.
And because MLB has its head buried in the sand, but you knew that already.

Not if you live in the Chicago "area" or have MLB EI
They should be on CSN. I will probably watch the TBS for the HD broadcast. Plus, Chip doesn’t bother me as much as he seems to bother others around here.
