ot: bulls suck in first summer game
another long season is ahead for our bulls. i watched the game online and boy was it terrible. tyrus thomas hasn't changed a bit, still terrible. noah, see tyrus thomas. gray, still way too slow for the nba game.
but the one thing that stood out was beasley for the heat. that kid can flat out score, i wish the bulls would have taken him instead of rose. the bulls are a donut team that has nothing inside.
except for a few drives by rose, this bulls game was horrible.
i know it's only a summer league game, but still, you have 3 potential starters on the floor with rose, thomas, and noah, and they were soundly pounded.

OK I think you are overreacting to one summer league game.
That being said, Beasley is going to be the better player this season, and the next season. After that who knows, tho I have been in Beasley’s camp all along. Rose is going to struggle at first while Beasley prolly won’t.

Summer league...
is not real. Calm down.
Durant sucked up summer league but won rookie of the year. Randy Foye dominated summer league but still hasn’t produced in the regular season. Nate Freakin’ Robinson was Summer League MVP. Might be the biggest achievement he’ll have in his career. Bellinelli led the league in scoring I believe, yet could not contribute once the season started. Von Wafer went for 42 points last year. Melvyn Sanders had a great season for the Spurs. Etc. Etc. Etc.
Summer league is nothing. I agree that the Bulls should have taken Beasley, but summer league does little to prove future potential and whether the draft order was correct or not.
Similar baseball comparison? Fukodome is ST this year.

Also consider the #2 vs. #1 pick dynamic
Beasley could have been playing with a chip on his shoulder and wanted to come out strong.

I hope your joking. One summer league game means nothing and b-easy is expected to be better as a rookie because he a PF. While it takes a guard about 2 years to develop. Just look at Chris paul and Deron Williams stats there first 2 years. The Game means nothing its more for tyrus and Joakim to play along with Derrick so they can build chemistry going into the season..

Who cares about the Bulls
The Hawks are going to own the united center for years to come

Noah probably won't improve
until the name on the back of his jersey reads HARRINGTON.

Oh man
I thought I was overreacting by thinking that maybe it’d take a long time for VDN to learn how to coach. They’ll be just fine, guys. They’re not supposed to contend with so many new pieces, but they should compete.

Ov-er-re-action
This is like pronouncing the Cubs doomed after the first Spring Training game. Actually, its even worse, since this isn’t even pre-season, its SUMMER LEAGUE. This would be like pronouncing the Cubs doomed as soon as pitchers and catchers report.
The Bulls may very well be bad this year, but it will have nothing to do with a summer league game played less than a month after the conclusion of the NBA finals.

Chances are...
they won’t be good this year. However, “not good” in the Eastern conference could still earn them some valuable playoff experience, even if it is just one-and-done.
Just read this tidbit on ESPN (Stein’s new article, I believe)...the Bulls are now thinking of sign-and-trading Ben Gordon and sliding Hinrich to the #2 next to Derrick Rose. I kinda like this idea, as I believe Gordon peaks as a nice scoring option off the bench. He’s too small to be a starter, but I see him getting starter dollars. Hinrich and Rose can handle the backcourt because Rose is physically dominant as a PG and Hinrich excels defensively. The Bulls will still lack scoring, but be moving in the right direction. If only they could find a post who could score…oh, wait, they had their chance and passed.

For the love of...
...well, you know. Instant gratification. Capitals are your friend, I might add.

Let's face the facts and accept that Paxson isn't very good in the draft
The Tyrus Thomas and Joakim Noah mistakes might have been corrected if they had traded the #1 pick along with a live body, but instead they overvalued Rose and got a player they didn’t need. Was the plan to just wait for a solid frontcourt to appear out of thin air while they continue to develop guards? I said Beasley all along, and now I’m going to just have to become a Bucks fan. Didja hear they grabbed Skiles to coach and picked up Richard Jefferson for peanuts?

Tyrus and Noah are not mistakes. Tyrus was drafted as a project and no one expected him to come into the league and “dominate”. He is still only 21 and has more upside and then anyone on the team besides rose. I think he has a great chance to become a star in the league. As for Noah he is the bulls center for probably a long time to come.
