Just got home from work
Cracked open a cold one and saw that we picked up Harden. That’s one hell of a rotation we got. Nice work Hendry

Very Excited
I like that we got Gaudin also. And I like that we have a $7M Team option for next year. Is that right?

Methinks the old visor I got at Wrigley
Still has some luck in it. I’ve been looking for it for weeks, found it today, and put it on right before I logged onto BCB only to find out we got Harden and Gaudin. Nice.
Now, let’s score some runs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Go Demp!!!!!!!

gaudin is a big pickup
we needed something fresh in the pen

Just a note for tonight
We are very shorthanded. Only 4 bench players (no replacement for Murton yet) and one pitcher short in the bullpen (Gaudin hasn’t arrived).
Of course, it will be a moot point if we light up Harang like we should.

Murton's gone already...
We gave up Gallagher and got two pitchers, so probably a pitcher will go.

He's been a hot hitter,
but no way is he a better SS than Keppinger.

DeRo should be fine tonight
He has a career 1.083 career OPS vs. Harang
and a 1.233 OPS against the Reds in 2007.

Just gotta
keep Hardin healthy. And I like adding Gaudin. All things considered, losing Murton and Patterson doesn’t bother me, and switching Gallagher for Hardin is nice. I don’t know anything about Donaldson, but with Soto, I’m not worried about catcher for a while

What do you think Harden
will wear for a jersey number? My fuzzy memory recalls that Harden wore
#40 so do you think he will wear that number again for the Cubs?
And should we expect to see #57 for Gaudin?
by BigDcubbie on Jul 8, 2008 7:12 PM CDT 0 recs
isn't rothschild 40?
would the pitching coach give up his number? why not? then again, would hardon want rothschild’s number?

i expect larry to give it up,
but then what would larry take?
40: dick harden
41: lou
42: jackie robinson, retired
43: wuertz
44: chad fox
45: we are marshall!!
46: dempster
47: eyre
48: cotts
49: marmol
those are all pitchers. never realized that. give larry a AAA number, like 92

Who, Gaudin or Harden?
I know Harden’s a good pitcher. I don’t know that he’ll be healthy for any extended period of time.

it looks like it
a potential #4, maybe, even. I can live with that.
What would make me REALLY happy is getting Maddux right now. Make him pitching coach, I don’t care…
