Cracked open a cold one and saw that we picked up Harden. That’s one hell of a rotation we got. Nice work Hendry

Methinks the old visor I got at Wrigley

Still has some luck in it. I’ve been looking for it for weeks, found it today, and put it on right before I logged onto BCB only to find out we got Harden and Gaudin. Nice.

Now, let’s score some runs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Go Demp!!!!!!!

Just a note for tonight

We are very shorthanded. Only 4 bench players (no replacement for Murton yet) and one pitcher short in the bullpen (Gaudin hasn’t arrived).

Of course, it will be a moot point if we light up Harang like we should.

Just gotta

keep Hardin healthy. And I like adding Gaudin. All things considered, losing Murton and Patterson doesn’t bother me, and switching Gallagher for Hardin is nice. I don’t know anything about Donaldson, but with Soto, I’m not worried about catcher for a while

Healthy Harden and Zambrano make a solid 1-2 and if Dempster keeps it up and Lilly continues to pitch as well as he has most of the time we just need Marquis to give us 6 and give up 3 or 4 runs every time out like he has a good portion of the season.

Just curious if you had a friend who's an A's fan what would

If you were asked by an As fan about the guys they got what would you say?]

Me Gallagher tremendous upside. Shows a lot of promise. 22 years old,. Obvioiusly the cornerstone of the trade.

Murton: Doesn’t have a spot on the team. Has shown promise but not fulfilled. Decent double power but not homerun power. Like Michael Jackson he wears one glove for no apparent reason.

Patterson: Another promising player with no real spot on the current team. Great speed. No D.

Donaldson High upside catcher.

Go Cubs

by puckishcubsfan on Jul 8, 2008 7:38 PM CDT reply actions

Oddly I had this conversation an hour ago.

He knew Murton.

I assured him he was getting a quality, young, arm in Gallagher, that Patterson had some promise, better in the infield than the outfield. Donaldson could be a good catcher.

He told me we were getting quality arms…and if Harden stays healthy, he’s the best there is.

Hendry: Gaudin can give us 2 or 3 innings if we need it, a good bridge to the late inning guys,

last year had 24 starts last year, up to 93 mph, a real tuff competitor, played for lou in tampa, we’ll give him a fair shot and hopefully he fits the role. cubs only dressing 23 tonight. will relax after we win the game, a lot like Ron during the game.

Before Edmonds: 24-16, (.600); With Edmonds: 29-20 (.592)
Edmonds with Cubs: .276 / .375 / .552

Two canadian pitchers? This calls for a joke...

Anybody know how they named Canada? The guy in charge was like “We goota figure out a name. Somebody yell out a letter!”

So a first guy is like “C eh?”

And another guy yells out “N eh?”

And a third yelled out “D eh?”

And there ya go.
