Good to see Demp make a nice recovery from the 4 walks..
Pitching with a sizable lead will do that though

I am ecstatic,
In 44 years of being a Cub fan this is the first time I believe we have a legitimate chance to win it all. Zambrano and Harden is as close to Beckett and Schilling, or Seaver and Koosman as we have ever gotten.

Cubs just make a trade for one of the top five pitchers in baseball, plus they obtain a very good relief pitcher as well, they lead the game 7-1, and they lead the N.L. Central by 3.5 games. Are there any unhappy Cubs fans out there today?

Good afternoon from sunny and hot Okinawa… Was it a good game? Looks like Dome had just 2BB and 2SO – not very good day for him huh?

Struggling a bit
It happens and I’m sure once he Soriano returns, Fukusome will be troublesome for the opposing SP.
He is having trouble with the breaking stuff
Does anyone know if the Japanese leagues throw a lot of breaking stuff?

if anyone?
"Chicago baseball fans, who are composites of scar tissue and mortifying memories..." - George F. Will
My guess is Marshall
Unfortunately, he would be the main guy out of the equation.
Cubs will probably have a vacancy on the 40-man for a while...

Anyone know who
Adam Harben is. I could not find him on any of the Minor League teams but he is on the 40 man roster. Don’t remember seeing him before

I just heard something I've never heard before in my life as a Cubs fan.
The Baseball Tonight analysts were talking about the Cubs/Brewers recent moves. All of them agreed that the Cubs are still the best team in the National League.
In my life as a Cubs fan, I don’t think I’ve ever heard that said. It’s always been the “miracle on Addison” or something like that. In other words, it was always unexpected when the Cubs did good.
It’s no longer unexpected. What a sweet feeling.

Henry rolls the dice.
If Harden is healthy great move. However Beane is a smart guy. Does he know something we don’t? We need a starter no doubt. I just hope this works out. Prior drove me insane,

by crazymountain on Jul 9, 2008 12:27 AM CDT up reply actions
i love henry for doing this
This has been a season of gambles, and so far, they’ve all paid off. First it starts with letting Prior go, an easy gamble considering all the injuries. The next gamble was the attainment of Fokudome, and most will agree that this was a wonderful move; it seems like it made the whole team more patient at the plate and anybody can see how the offense has prospered. Not dealing for Brian Roberts was one of the best gambles in that it allowed the cubbies to keep so many of the key players that have been helping us win. Jim Henry seems like he knows what he’s been doing so far and now we’ll just have to wait and see whether or not the Hayden trade will pay off.
