Bidding to Buy the Cubs - Deadline July 18th
According to this Crain's article, the new owner could be announced near the end of this year: http://www.chicagobusiness.com/cgi-bin/news.pl?id=30103
Mark Cuban is listed as one of the potential bidders. I wouldn't mind seeing him get the winning bid, you know that he wants to win, if only to stroke his massive ego. At any rate, lets all hope the new owner has deep pockets and hires good baseball people.

Wouldn't it be a sight if Al headed to his bleacher seat, only to find Mark Cuban sitting there?
What would happen? Would the universe explode?
Alan Trammell: Assistant (to the) Manager
Reinsdorf
Good ol Reinsdorf will never allow Cuban. Cuban is too creative, and new-fangled for Reinsdorf and his good ol boy’s club. Allan Huber Selig will put some stooge in place like he has in florida, unless someone pays Allan and Reinsdorf off. Cuban has as much a chance as my dogs do, zero
And the White Sox still suck
I want you all to know
That my $31.47 bid to purchase the Cubs was rejected. Apparently you need millions of dollars to purchase a major league team.
Who knew!
I want to see the Owner of the Wolves purchase the team.

So do I, and I know he's on the list of bidders.
Good luck to Don Levin. He’d be perfect.
