Sounds like that might be a misleading stat though. As the Cubs lead the NL (or maybe all of MLB) in OBP it stands to reason they’d hit into a lot of double plays because they have a LOT of men on base.

You kid about it, I still think if you are gonna have D-Ward, you might as well sign Bonds

Better hitter, equal sucky fielding, Ward already gets Marquis to run for him.

1. DeRo at 2B, Dome in RF

Honestly, I was thinking about this last week with Joba...

if a manager suddenly wants a pitcher out, then if he gets “injured” then the new pitcher gets as much time as he wants to warm up. That way if an inning gets out of control, he can get a new guy in there without warming him up in the bullpen. That being said, I heavily doubt that went on here. This inning was not out of control.

I have been thinking about an interesting idea for a running post for all of you who live in Chicago....

I am a cub fan who lives in St. Louis, and I don’t get to have many cub conversations with actual cub fans. One thing that I noticed years ago was that people in chicago were calling Joe Borowski “Joe Blowsaveski” towards the end. Now…..I liked the guy, but I thought that was a pretty funny twist on his name once things started going sour. Heck, my brother and I used to refer to Kyle Farnsworthless (much less catchy). What I was hoping to hear (and not to be negative) is what funny nicknames names you all used or remembered from cubs past players when they were slumping (feel free to leave current cubs off of it, I don’t want any negativity started here). However, I just have been wondering what entertaining names I have missed out on by not living there or attending games regularly. Do tell…
