Its Cedeno, expect nothing else
I’m just listening on the radio so I didn’t see the play, just assuming its a Cedeno moment.

Guy's got an RBI double and some nice defense for us tonight.
He’s not an All Star; he’s a backup infielder. Seriously.

One quibble: Don't make first or last out at third
Which is precisely what he did.
Not a big complaint … he’s done well overall … but I really wish he’d avoid that screw up
by cocknfire on Aug 10, 2008 9:09 PM CDT up reply actions 0 recs
My personal feeling is that a rule that hard-and-fast...
...probably ends up costing a team runs in the long run. There is real value in getting to third, and being too conservative can cost you the same as being too reckless. I don’t know where the breakeven point is, admittedly.

New idea for a fun reply post.....
Again….living in St. Louis, I see TONS of t-shirts with anti cubs slogans (perhaps you have seen some St. Louis boneheads wear them in Wrigley this year). What I would like to know is, are there some nice anti-cards shirts for sale up in Chicago? What do they say? Are they funny? Last year someone referenced a shirt that said “cardinal fans like it in the pujols” Gawd I wish I had that shirt. So…what have you got?

I have a memory from a few years ago (I think it was when Len first joined the broadcast booth) where Len (?) said that he had been talking to Aramis and was told that “Aramees” IS the correct pronunciation, and that he would try to do it from then on. I guess that fell by the wayside though. Am I the only one that remembers this?

the same Tony LaRussa who did not want to sign DeRo after 2006 because he was a “one year wonder”, but wanted Adam Kennedy instead?
I wonder if he is happy with his decision???

Just a sloppy game all around…errors, bad lines in the outfield, stolen bases. I’m thrilled the Cubs are up, but this isn’t a game that should be sent to Hall of Fame.

Am I the only one that finds this hillarious?
When the Rockies acquired Hernandez from the Twins off waivers earlier this week, they believed he would be a significant upgrade over struggling pitcher Kip Wells, who was designated for assignment on Sunday. It now appears to have been a lateral move.Hernandez, who hadn’t pitched to live batters since July 30, was sluggish from the start. The Padres’ first four batters all came around to score in the 32-pitch first. Hernandez (0-1) gave up five more runs off two towering home runs in the third before being pulled.
A chorus of boos taunted Hernandez as he exited for the dugout. In 2 2/3 innings, the former World Series MVP gave up nine runs on seven hits and walked four.

They just had one amazing hot streak. Unfortunately, that led them to believe that they were a better team than they were—hence the lack of moves to strengthen the team in the off-season.

exactly my point
which is why i took exception to the notion that cyclone fans are the only ones who act like that, as if hawk fans dont (as a badger, you’ve probably seen some bad hawkeye fans, too)

I apologize for SOME of us Cyclone fans.
I hope that you don’t feel this is representative of the entire fanbase. That would be taking the Marty Brennaman approach.

whew not the only cyclone here!
yeah both sides have many bad apples – but most of us can get along in a way that is civil, i should hope

My PTI addiction was one of the main reasons I held on to cable for so long. Now that I can get PTI/Daily Show/Colbert on the intertubes, I cancelled my cable without looking back.

I have to ask.
I’m only 15 so most comercials don’t involve me, but…
Do they really influence you to buy products? I mean most comercials seem so be so corny that you don’t really think about buying their products. Also, being a comercial I’ve come to not believe everything.

I meant does it make sense since Cedno's better defensively

Made the last out of the inning.
For defense you’re probably better off swapping Johnson for Edmonds in CF, but in three innings I don’t know that it matters that much. (Well, obviously it matters if a play gets missed, but…)
