Kerry Wood
Maybe I'm working too hard and therefore out of touch with Cub Nation, but I found it shocking to hear about Kerry Wood's back. I found interesting stuff here: http://www.thebaldesttruth.com/. So what I want to know: was it the finger or the back that kept Wood out? I guess I find it frustrating to not know. Sure, most of us don't have the right, but when Wood was out a long time with a blister, I started to wonder if he had other issues with his arm.
Anyway, let's hope he can pitch and is okay. I have really enjoyed how well Wood has done in his new role and I hope he can contribute down the stretch. We need him if the Cubs are to hang on.

He was on the DL because of the blister
He had a bad blister, which turned into an open sore. I can see that taking a couple weeks to heal.
No need to be shocked by his back problem, which has been a recurring issue for him for years.
My next sig line quote will also be from Lou Piniella, and the first word will be either "Look", or "Listen", followed by a comma.

Right.
Haven’t we gone through this enough times? Wood was available yesterday, but Lou chose not to use him in a blowout loss, a smart thing to do. There are ZERO issues with his arm.
That column link is… well, strange. Filled with half-truths and nonsense. Best ignored.

Did Kerry participate
in the charity bowling event the other night, or was he simply there as the organizer? If he did bowl any frames, might that have aggravated his back a bit, or was this aggravation there before the event? Not drawing any conclusions, just curious…
