OT: NIKE USA BASKETBALL COMMERCIAL

I am not a sap for mushy commercials, especially those that tend to mock patriotism for a buck, but from the moment I saw this commercial I was in complete awe. I remember as a child when Marvin Gaye pulled this off at the 1983 NBA All Star game, and did not thinking all that much of it. Nike nailed this one, as they usually do. This one is a little cooler than normal. I hope anyone interested enjoys.

Seen this one a couple of times

and to be honest, the commercial doesn’t do much for me. The PERFORMANCE is so iconic and so remarkable that it seems the practice montage slapped over it doesn’t really work or do justice to the soundtrack. Then again, I hate the NBA so I’m biased.

I don't usually say much about what should be a FanPost.

But this would have worked better as a FanShot, because you could have put the video directly into the post.

If you don't like this,

Then you don’t like America.

Marvin Gaye rocks..

..but I really disagree with soul singers trying to funk-up the national anthem. He was awesome, dont get me wrong. But when I hear the national anthem, I dont want to get my groove on. This song is about patriotism not gettin busy with my girly.

Baloney

I haven’t forgotten Nike’s role in the 1992 Olympics.

Players under contract with Nike covered up their Reebok logo with flags. It was a disgusting, disgraceful use of the flag people have died for. It was worse than burning it.

Screw Nike.

But Nike is more popular than Reebok!

As I've told you before, I never repeat myself.

I don't mess with the flag

I could give two flying rats for a Jumbotron or ivy, but you don’t use the flag to honor a shoe contract.

not sure

what you mean by that, joking or what. But lets respect the flag to the fullest.

The times they are a changin'

But that’s not necessarily a good thing.

Does Soriano's defense at 2B really cost more runs than in LF? He makes a lot fewer errors in LF since misplays and mental mistakes aren't figured into the stats, but I have to imagine that his mistakes are more physical at 2B. Any thoughts? Is there a statistic on this?
