Heh... GO BIG PELF, for young Mets pitcher Mike Pelfrey
I went to Spring Training with it and our pitchers Billy Wagner and Scott Schoeneweis came over and teased me about it, they had Pelfrey come over and meet me and stuff… was awesome… then the trainers asked me to make 2 GO BIG PELF shirts in Mens sizes and bring them to the next workout.
The trainers had Billy Wagner and our other pitcher Joe Smith wear the shirts at the workout as a surprise to Pelfrey. It turned into an internet story and people started requesting replica shirts. About 130+ people have GO BIG PELF shirts now!
who knew
he could be a fly-out pitcher, that’s what I’m saying…

The walk to the pitcher.
"This is an environment of welcoming, and you should just get the hell outta here." --Michael Scott
I was trying not to say it in case I was wrong, but - he hasn't looked right to me since Pitch 1 today
just in looking very twitchy on the mound even before the first pitch - more fidgety then i've ever seen him
he keeps taking a big deep breath, way more often than usual (was doing this even before he walked anyone)
looks overly hyped up. unfortunately i don’t know enough about mechanics to have any insight on that side. just from a mental/behavioral standpoint, he has looked freaked out and rushing all day
Also, he's looked all flushed/bright red for every single Cubs start
At first I thought it was a sunburn, but you can’t have a sunburn for like 3 weeks. I’ve never seen him getting all red in his A’s days. He must get real excited pitching for this team.
come on Rich
get this guy out
Good luck Shawn Johnson, Lolo Jones and Doug Schwab. Bring home the gold!!!

I was trying to watch the game in HD on DirecTV but it is only the Atlanta feed tonight.
So when the Atlanta announcers say, “good eye” when Kotchman takes the 0-2 pitch that hit 5 feet in front of the plate, I decided it was time to turn back to Len & Bob and skip the HD tonight. That had to be a comment straight out of the movie Major League.
Let’s hope Harden has an uneventful 4th (and 5th and 6th)
THIS IS OUR CENTURY!!
They are still angry from the first game today
The little Soriano deal combined with us killing them. Then Bob Howry falls off the mound and still throws a strike. That sent the color guy over the edge. Oh, and their color guy HATES Ted Lilly.

I mean I don't want to be a downer or anything but with 57 pitches through 4
I wouldn’t mind if the no-hitter was broken up. I don’t want Lou sending him out there to throw 120+ pitches

As you can tell us Cub fans get real testy when it comes to pitchers and injuries
Missouri Tigers 2008 Cotton Bowl Champs
It's just a completely irrelevant argument at this point
Harden has been friggin’ lights out, has shown NO signs of any lingering injury, whereas Gallagher is injured and Murton’s sucking it up. There’s nothing to discuss here, and I don’t understand the point in doing so.
Evey Hammond: Vi Veri Veniversum Vivus Vici. V: By the power of truth, I, while living, have conquered the universe.
She was talking about Beane thinking Harden was injured
At least thats how I understood it. God only knows any rational A’s fan looks at the trade now and thinks they got robbed.
Harden has been pretty awesome tonight, but he hasn’t been his usual self.
Missouri Tigers 2008 Cotton Bowl Champs
He's given up one hit, zero runs...
...too many walks and too few K’s, but I’d call this a good performance thus far…

please...the guy hasn't thrown in 8 days. he is a bit rusty.
it wouldn’t be unusual to have bit of trouble with your mechanics & release point after that many days off and the fact that his start was pushed back a day. let’s not jump off a ledge…just yet.
THIS IS OUR CENTURY!!
What part of "Harden hasn't allowed a run tonight" don't you understand?
All we need from Harden tonight is a repeat of what Marquis did this afternoon, and he’s done better than that, so far. He doesn’t need to be perfect—he has a five run lead.
"I've never complained about it. I'm thankful to have a jersey." Mark DeRosa, 22 Aug 2007
Hey hey hey... I am the huge Harden fan, and I would never underestimate him.
I just get nervous about him when he looks behaviorally weird, and “maybe Billy knows something” is always lingering in the back of my mind, as an A’s fan. We are taught that he knows all.
You take Billy's recent acquisitions
I’ll take Hendry’s. Let’s see who wins that game.
Evey Hammond: Vi Veri Veniversum Vivus Vici. V: By the power of truth, I, while living, have conquered the universe.
Look, I don't like Billy and I think his recent moves look stupid.
I just get sneaking suspicions sometimes.
again
if Harden’s going down, it’ll be with a bang, not a coast.
He’s just having a less than great night.

I'd rather see Marshall or Lieber,
though I don’t know what roster move you would make to bring Lieber back. Shark has enough adjusting to do without having to make a spot start. Also, if you take Shark out of the rotation, you have to use Howry more in the set-up role.
