Ehh I'm not trying to defend any pitcher

But I think technically their different in their impact on a game. A player watching a ball that MAY NOT be a HR can cause him to turn a 2B into 1B or even getting thrown out. A pitcher pumping his fist? That’s not gonna change the whether he Strike’s out, Walks, or gives up a HR to someone. That being said, I think Sori learned from yesterday and I have absolutely no doubt he’ll keep to his word (or at leas try).

Go All In and Enjoy The Ride.

by Jayo525 on Aug 14, 2008 7:20 PM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

Strikeouts are way more common then HR's

And the only time you really ever see a fist pump by a pitcher is in a big situation when you need thes strikeout. Not EVERY time you strike someone out, like soriano does when he hits a homerun.

by cubsfaninatl on Aug 14, 2008 7:21 PM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

Do you like...

Ken Griffey Jr. or Manny Ramirez? Because they have probably the most blatant “stop and stare” HR poses in baseball… just asking.

Come on...

Lee, Aramis especially, Edmonds, and players all around the league stop and admire their HRs for at least a second. Get over it.

throw was high to plate and ramirez dove to the back side of the plate, kind of reaching back to the left for the dish. as he landed and was kind of reaching back, his right knee was slightly pulled in and the landing jarred it to the ground just after the rest of his body. That’s an amazing record. Congratulations. How many more games you got this year?

I know an Astros fan who claims never to have seen them win in person. He was at both losses last week at Wrigley. He says he’s something like 0-30. I’ve got to think that’s nigh on impossible.

Better than the alternative, I suppose.
