Not surprised about Ted
I’m pretty sure he wasn’t throwing at the guy…I mean, it’s not like he was pinpoint accurate throughout his start

lilly is known to protect his hitters... his day is about done.. with a 5 run lead
he was def. throwing at him
Not so sure about that...
Lilly has a good poker face. He’s hit people before.

You gotta wonder how many times these teams have fought...
being the two oldest franchises in American sports…
Remember...
Last year with Lilly and Renteria? Benches cleared on that one and then poor Fonty got a forearm shiver to the head.

You know...
Just because Woody is now cleared to be the closer again doesn’t mean that you need to put us in a save situation!
when Howry retires I can see him becoming the official
Home Run Derby pitcher.
Focus Howry and get out of this inning!!!

Did that fanpost seriously just get deleted by Al?
Come on. The guy was just expressing his opinion, and I think it had some merit to it. BCB was awesome even a year ago, but it really has devolved to the point where often times you can’t even be in disagreement with anything, or all the attack posters will jump on you. I really wish this place could be what it used to be. Whatever though, I don’t want to be banned, so I’ll stop there.

It was completely inappropriate. And this is what I wrote before it got deleted in response:
Perkins you and I joined BCB around the same time and I remember you quite well. I guess I don’t see the reason for the hate.
And the only discussion that is “censored” here, if that’s what you want to call it, is that which is NOT acceptable in any sort of public setting, that is, inappropriate name-calling, swearing, or general bad behavior. This is how all civil discussions are run. I’d be interested to see how BCB is the “laughing stock” of the Cubs’ online community. Please cite other blogs that have been referenced on ESPN.com, SI.com, and The New York Times.com.
I’m not sure what a “Baker’s Fuck” is, or who votes on “Biggest Douche in the Universe”, but if you so wish to bring proper discussion to this community, you’re surely not going about it the right way.

I’ve been a member of this blog for a couple of years, and a consistent poster. And I’ve been called a troll before, simply because I don’t love Ryan Theriot. Half the time, if you disagree you’re branded a troll.
See, I think that's a blanket statement
Lots of people don’t like Riot’s singles-to-right-field and his horrible arm, but lots of fans do. And I am on the game threads quite a bit…and I don’t see the word “troll” be thrown out that much, sans for a few Brewers/Sox fans. I really don’t see it.

Evey Hammond: Vi Veri Veniversum Vivus Vici. V: By the power of truth, I, while living, have conquered the universe.
Dan, I agree with you to a certain extent.
But just a few days ago I voiced my opinion that Lance Berkman was better than Derrek Lee, without any animosity or name calling. The only responses I got were baseless attacks, about how I’m not a real cub fan because of it. It really is ridiculous.

Hmmm
I guess I don’t remember that.

And I agree, of course, Berkman is playing out of his mind.
Dan
Evey Hammond: Vi Veri Veniversum Vivus Vici. V: By the power of truth, I, while living, have conquered the universe.
No, It isn't a problem with Al.
My problem is with the people who act as if they are Al’s police, and jump on anyone who disagrees.
If there are no disagreements, then this site can become boring...
Again, things should be discussed appropriately. They can be heated, sure, but they should still be carried out in a way that you could have the arguement in front of your mother. However, I have seen some name calling (perhaps not as inflammatory as the ghost post) used by the always positive crowd. That goes unnoticed…
