Wrigley Field Help
I'm hoping a regular to Wrigley Field can help me out. I took my 2 nephews to Wrigley on a bus trip last week. We had a great time, except we never got the chance to catch a fly/foul ball from where are seats were. When I was walking on the concourse I saw one of those penny press machines, you put a penny and 50 cents in and it smashes the penny and imprints something on the Cubs or Wrigley on it. Well, I didn't have time to get press pennies, but I'm thinking it would be something great to add to their Christmas presents, they are both 7 years old. Is anyone out there able to help me out? Thanks.

Kate...
Where in Iowa? I’ve got a spare ball or two that I could probably hand over…
One thing you learned as a Cubs fan: when you bought you ticket, you could bank on seeing the bottom of the ninth.

sure, but I don't think the penny press machine can handle baseballs... ;-)
Tell you what though – that’d be a cool machine if it did. You drop a baseball in there, put your money in, and then see these big ACME steel presses come from all sides and squeeze the bejesus out of the baseball. Leather, stitching, cork and string explode everywhere…
Then it gets all scooped up together and flattened once more into a nice little placement and comes sliding out into a drawer in the bottom of the machine. For a moment you feel a tinge of sadness because you aided in the destruction of a symbol of our national pastime, but then you hold your new unique memento in your hands, look down and notice that the Allen H. Selig autograph is nowhere to be seen. You smile and nod your head, because now you know it was worth it…

LOL
Didn’t mean that. She said she hoped to catch a foul ball… maybe you have some extras?

Please
Tell me you’re not serious. I love the Cubs and I will be the happiest in October if they pull out a WS, but seriously, why is it that much of a concern to get a penny that you’ll lose someday and get a foul ball that means nothing. Go buy a ball and put an MLB stamp on it and pass it off as legit. And why would someone willingly post their email on the internet. I know if people really want it, they can find that stuff but don’t give people a reason to do something stupid.

don’t really have any place in this world either.
different things are interesting and valuable to different people for different reasons….just like….your comment may be interesting and valuable to somebody, you just never know!
and why would you care if someone wants to post their email address? It’s their business and they’re actually trying to be nice to someone.
Live and let live. Why do you want to degrade someone like that?

Paying it forward
I’m about a day late on this, but I’d be happy to spend the $2.04 to keep the Karma train rolling. Thanks to Hammer I’ll be there on the 24th.

Did you go with the Maske’s? I’ll be driving from IC to the Reds game next Tuesday night. I’d be happy to bring a few home for you if you let me know.

rec center
I took the bus trip with the Iowa City rec center on August 6th. $65 for the bus trip to and from Wrigley, and that included the ticket to the game. The grand slam homerun was great. My nephews were cheering and jumping all over the place.

Let me know if you want some pennies, Kate
We can figure out a way to meet up. I don’t want to offend the Irish Yeti’s of the world. In the spirit of the revelations about Juila Child being a spy in WWII we could set up a dead drop somewhere.
