I posted this in the recap thread...

… but that’s great. Pat got TRULY excited, which you rarely hear.

I love that even after all these years in the game for Pat

some things STILL excite him. That is very cool to me.

Thanks for posting this John!

Thank you...

I got goosebumps listening to this. But I wish Ron was there, he would’ve made it even more special.

real cool. thanks

one a thread someone mentioned the florida call, a bit less happy.

i have all three call of michael jordan scoring at the buzzer to eliminate the cavaliers. the national feed was neutral, jim durham (bulls) went apestuff.

the funniest(?) call was from the cavs. a memorable shot, and IIRC, it went something like this.

…“jordan goes up over ehlo, it’s good. the bulls win 101-100, and advance to the next round winning the series 3-2. we’ll be back to wrap it up after this”

out to an advert in about 8 seconds.

great cap, thanks again.

Thank you

Those game winning hits really make you miss Ronny. I missed Len’s call too as I was flipping between the game and the Olympics.

Cheers for this.

I love the silence after the call, like Pat’s afraid that if he says something it will erase what just happened.

Thanks

I know Dave Otto is not the most popular guy, but I love his grunts of disbelief that you can hear in the background. He obviously didn’t know what to say. Those “sounds” were as meaningful to me as any cheering Ron would have done, which would have been fun to hear, too.

Agreed

Pat’s excited unbelief combined with Dave’s grunts are the best parts. But, I can’t imagine how exstatic Ronny would have been. It would surely have been necessary to turn his mic down.

With Cubs legend Ron Santo...

If Ron didn't fall out of the broadcast booth entirely.
