we are on a cubs messageboard sue.
If people want to call him Fuku because it is easier to type, then get over it.
except it's not a matter of Sue's feelings
Dome has asked to NOT BE CALLED THAT.
Dome isn’t any more difficult to type than Fuku.

come on guys, you really need to relax. we all have different names for the guys, i prefer to call him fuku. I’m never going to meet him, he isn’t going to read this message board, so it really doesn’t matter if I call him something that is a derivative of his name.
it's disrespectful

Dome is just as easy to type.
I know you are young but maybe a little repsect for others on here would be nice too.
Good luck Shawn Johnson, Lolo Jones and Doug Schwab. Bring home the gold!!!
I have no problem respectaing anyone here.
But to say it’s wrong for me to type Fuku is just stupid. If Kosuke comes on here and feels disrespected, then I apologize in advance. I prefer to call him Fuku. Quit policing every comment, especially when it has no malicious intent, such as mine.
Then it's settled
You are fine being disrespectful to the players and have self-identified.

ample information about how you are as well.
"This is an environment of welcoming, and you should just get the hell outta here." --Michael Scott

you keep missing the fact that
Dome has ALREADY asked to be called Dome.

Fine Sue. If you really want to spend your
time worrying about my nickname’s for a player, then go ahead. I’m going to comment about the game now, and stop arguing about complete bullshit with you. Flag away.
Let me put this out there.
There is nothing inherently disrespectful about saying Fuku. That character means “blessings” or “good fortune”.
Kosuke believes it would be an easy target for disrespectful puns, so he has asked others to avoid doing so.
But I think jumping on someone for saying “blessings” is a bit overzealous.
Right...
I’m sure that’s what he means when he calls him that.

There's
the sarcasm that goes so well with your negativity. Some trolls like to visit even when we have the best team in the bigs.
"This is an environment of welcoming, and you should just get the hell outta here." --Michael Scott
Troll?
Check how long I’ve been registered and commenting here. I put up fanposts. I’m certainly not a troll. In fact, I’d argue that you guys were the ones trolling my simple nickname comment.
You're game thread comments
have all the tale-tell signs. Troll.
"This is an environment of welcoming, and you should just get the hell outta here." --Michael Scott
Yeah, I've been a two year troll who Al just never got around to banning. Good point.
I contribute a lot on here, and enjoy doing so. I wasn’t aware that calling a player by part of his name would begin my path to trolldom. Forgive me.
That convo is over.
You’re just being difficult at every opportunity.
"This is an environment of welcoming, and you should just get the hell outta here." --Michael Scott
I'm not trying to be difficult at all. I just want to enjoy the game.
If you hadn’t jumped down my throat for my apparent mistake of calling him Fuku, everything would be fine I’m sure.
I don't really want to continue this thread
but its not a mistake if you insist on doing it despite good reason not to. That’s just you being obstinate. Couple that with your sarcasm, and your unique ability to show up in frustrating games and add to the frustration and you’ve got yourself a reputation.
At least with me.
"This is an environment of welcoming, and you should just get the hell outta here." --Michael Scott
Then you obviously haven't taken the time to look through anything,
because I post here frequently, in good games and in frustrating ones. And I could care less that I’ve gotten a bad reputation with you due to the fact that I said “Fuku” and then responded with sarcasm to your gross overreaction. Get over yourself.
You need to stop too
You’re going over the top with this. So relax and just enjoy the game …all of this stuff makes the game thread so much less enjoyable

but dlee just isnt a good number 3 hitter its really starting to get ridiculous
Who would you rather see #3, and where would you bat DLee?

he is a good 3 hitter
He just plays it different then the guys who swing for the fences every time…. just like soriano plays the leadoff spot different…. and well it has worked.. we are the best team in the NL.. when he hits a HR everyone will be praising how good of an asset he is to our team

He’s never had a season like this, in my memory. And Aramis is the essence of number 4 hitter, so you wouldn’t hit him

Exactly
Lee is a valuable part of this team. People got spoiled by his offensive output in 2005.

You shouldn't be praying for a result in a sporting event
Save that for the important stuff.
Meanwhile, it would be nice if the Dodgers won. But if the Brewers won, it isn’t the end of the world, either.

yeah, I know...
that was just the frustration talking…
I just can’t fathom what about Florida prevents us from just beating them. It’s like someone in Florida has a voodoo doll or something….
3-3 against them this year
I’d say that’s an improvement.

I’ll be out there cheering, for sure.
I'm predicting they win the Big Ten.

Juice has apparently looked great in practice as well this year.
He completed most of his passes and threw for 2 TD’s in a scrimmage yesterday. RB is probably the biggest concern right now.

A session
on the difference between those who are “Born Digital” (computers in the home from time of birth) vs. those who weren’t, i.e., Digital Natives vs. Digital Immigrants. Impact on the workplace and how we need to rethink how we conceive and deliver content so it becomes more engaging and interactive.
whew.
Digital Natives
are roughly (by my measure) 1974-present. Digital Immigrants are all born before that. There are 77 million Baby Boomers and approximately 90 million Digital Natives.
I would guess 18 or so...
I would think by the time those born around 1990 started school, most schools had computers.
"Whoever wants to know the heart and mind of America had better learn baseball." - Jacque Barzun
Natives
are defined as those who had access to computers/video games from birth … either at home, at arcades, or in movie theaters. Pong was first invented in 1974 which is why I use that as the starting point. Digital Natives and Gaming Generation are interchangeable in my book.
That makes sense...
I forgot you said time of birth. I was thinking more in terms of computers being prevalent in schools and households and when they would actually start using them.

Wow, that's a mouthful....

Eh
Out of 162 games, this is just one series, and one game. If we lose, we lose, doesn’t change the fact of how bad we beat up the rest of the NL. It’s frustrating, yes, but we do need to have patience because this game can turn pretty quickly.
