by sackings108 on Aug 17, 2008 1:45 PM CDT up reply actions

Let me put this out there.

There is nothing inherently disrespectful about saying Fuku. That character means “blessings” or “good fortune”.

Kosuke believes it would be an easy target for disrespectful puns, so he has asked others to avoid doing so.

But I think jumping on someone for saying “blessings” is a bit overzealous.

Digital Natives

are roughly (by my measure) 1974-present. Digital Immigrants are all born before that. There are 77 million Baby Boomers and approximately 90 million Digital Natives.

I would guess 18 or so...

I would think by the time those born around 1990 started school, most schools had computers.

Natives

are defined as those who had access to computers/video games from birth … either at home, at arcades, or in movie theaters. Pong was first invented in 1974 which is why I use that as the starting point. Digital Natives and Gaming Generation are interchangeable in my book.

by Emelie on Aug 17, 2008 2:10 PM CDT up reply actions
