Picture of the video screen at Dolphin Stadium Friday night. Each Cub player picture was accompanied by a team photo of (I'm assuming) the 1908 team plus a goat that would pop up in random spots. Hilarious.
The goat noises being played over the PA system after each Cub out were a nice touch also. Strangely, no livestock cold be heard after Ward hit his HR.

Ridiculous.
Can’t these people come up with anything more creative than that? Lame.

Oh, I thought it fit right in with the rest of the minor league antics...
I was surprised they didn’t do a Crazy Bat race or bring out some frisbee-catching dogs.

Minor-league antics.
Sums it up perfectly.

Stay classy, Miami
Douchebags…
The only stats I care about are the ones on the back of a baseball card

Wow
I guess that is the kind of crap you can expect from a franchise that averages about 500 people per game.
Good thing the Cubs put up on the field and shut those morans up.

Nice use of "morans."
You know, I bet this doesn’t happen if 90% of the crowd wasn’t wearing blue.

You would think the Marlins would love when the Cubs come into town
They have a 400% attendance increase for one weekend a year.

Tickets, beer, food...
This isn’t a “Take back Miller Park” situation. This was an uncalled for attempt to provoke the fans (cos I seriously doubt the team could care less), the same fans putting money in their pockets.

The total attendance for the weekend was 86,372...
… prior to the weekend, the Marlins were averaging 15,683 per game, dead last in the majors. Their average now is 16,279. A Marlins series against, say, the Nationals, had it gone at their season average, would have drawn 47,049. Thus the Cubs brought approximately 40,000 extra people into Joe Robbie ProPlayer Dolphin Stadium. Their average ticket price is $17 — but that includes tens of thousands of bad seats that weren’t sold for this series. At $17 a pop, that’s an extra $680,000 in the Marlins’ coffers, but the actual average price sold over the weekend was likely over $20, meaning Cub fans put over $800,000 in the Marlins’ pockets that wouldn’t otherwise have been there, paying for at least two of the minimum salaries on the Marlins’ roster.

Two of the minimum salaries... nice
Although I suspect they have some under the table deals going whereby they could get 8 or 9 players for $800k.

Well
What do you expect from a team that has the 2 tons o’ fun dancing revue that is the Manatees—This is a class (and I would argue that that is two letters too long) organization from top to bottom.
Time is an illusion--lunch time doubly so.

So I am the only one
that found those fantastic? When a “neutral” television channel like FOX focuses 90% of its broadcat of a Cubs game on the 1908 team and the Billy Goat thing, I find that ridiculous and douchey. But opposing teams are supposed to talk [poop]. Besides, those screenshots (especially the goat-over-the-shoulder one) were pretty funny. Like when Arizona does the Bartman-kiss-cam gag, if the opposing team can get some barbs in in a funny way, I’m all for it. Then when the Cubs finally get it done, we can jab back.
(Besides, they had to do something to try to counteract the Cubs’ home field advantage in Miami.)

The problem isn't that they're making fun...
… that’s OK. The problem is that they trot out the same old lame gags we’ve heard for years. Come up with new material, already.
