One liners for overflow threads...

In a recent overflow thread Al said that he is running out of one liners for the body of the post.  i say, we should help him out.  so here is your chance to post something.  be opponent related...be creative!  have fun.  Al might appreciate it, then again he may delete this, haha.

it says that i need 21 more words, so this is the longest sentence ever, and i mean ever!

help is on the way Al!!

This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of SB Nation, Bleed Cubbie Blue, or Al Yellon, editor-in-chief. FanPost opinions are, however, valued expressions of opinion by passionate and knowledgeable baseball fans.

You could start doing quotes...

Santo- “THIS IS THE YEAR!”
I have discovered in twenty years of moving around a ball park, that the knowledge of the game is usually in inverse proportion to the price of the seats. ~Bill Veeck

Just google “baseball quote” and you can find numerous quotes. Even wonder off of baseball if you want… Or take some off the top of your head or something you just heard.

MAybe even a “Stat of the Day”. Just some ideas…

My favorite quote about baseball from a movie, with a little swearing:

Crash Davis: Well, I believe in the soul, the cock, the pussy, the small of a woman’s back, the hanging curve ball, high fiber, good scotch, that the novels of Susan Sontag are self-indulgent, overrated crap. I believe Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone. I believe there ought to be a constitutional amendment outlawing Astroturf and the designated hitter. I believe in the sweet spot, soft-core pornography, opening your presents Christmas morning rather than Christmas Eve and I believe in long, slow, deep, soft, wet kisses that last three days.

Maybe Al could pick a random poster

on BCB and look at their profile and pick out something interesting about them to use.
Example- BCB member love the ivy became a Cubs fan 30 years ago because of her love for Harry Caray’s voice. This might get people to put more info in their profiles as well. It’s nice to get a little background and feel for fellow BCBers.

"That guy is a gamer." said Ron Santo of Reed Johnson on 07-25-08

You always hear when you’re other places of how the fans are really passionate about the Cubs and Chicago is and I never really knew until I got here. It’s unbelievable the volume we get.
