by leothelip on Aug 21, 2008 3:30 PM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

Yep...

…they are having innings end way too quickly with the double play. You have Soriano on 1st (good speed) and a good contact hitter up (Theriot) and I don’t understand why Soriano wouldn’t be running there.

It’s possible Lou wanted him to, but Soriano didn’t go on his own.

Not saying that at all...

…when you get the hit & run sign, the runner must go no matter what kind of jump they get. When you get the straight steal sign (which it would have been in this case), you have the option to hold up if you feel you didn’t get a good jump.

All in all, I’m just a little surprised Lou isn’t putting guys in motion more to avoid some of these double plays that are killing innings.

For all of the hand-wringing about the offense, the Cubs won the series. It’s just another sign on how this team can win when not playing their best, and another reason why we all should be excited about this season.

That said, let’s score more than 9 total runs this weekend.

Cracked a molar?

I am listening to the Lou interview and he said it’s the first time he’s been out to visit a pitcher on the mound and has needed a dentist out there. What happened? Dang it I missed the first part.

Did Lou just

say Z cracked a molar and that why Mark went out to see him during the game?

by sue369 on Aug 21, 2008 3:49 PM CDT reply actions   0 recs

I think so, yeah.

That’s really weird. How could he have stayed in the game with a cracked molar?

Zambrano has a dentist appointment tomorrow

He said he chews too much sugary gum. And he’s not a good example to his daughter when it comes to gum.

LOL, give Z credit...

…he definitely keeps it interesting.

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why don’t you just walk under a ladder while whistling past a grave yard using our lap top to put the cubs on the cover of sports illustrated letting a back cat crossing your path telling everyone “Lilly is pitching a no hitter,” on your way to breaking a mirrow and stopping a goat from going into Wrigley.

Knock that crap off!

I would have no problem doing it

It feels great to not be superstitious – you should try it sometime!
