cubs trip to pittsburgh

I live in philly and I have planned a trip  to Pittsburgh with the family to see our boys.  Out of curiousity, does anyone know where the team stays when they are there?  Also, any suggestions on what we should do as a family?  We are getting very excited about the stretch run!!!I think this team has a legitimate shot at 100 wins and Lou has been keeping the this team on a very specific track.

We drove out to Pittsburgh

for a 3-game sweep in late 2004, featuring (of all things) a game-saving diving catch by Sammy Sosa to preserve a 1-0 win. No comment on what happened after we got back home, but PNC is a great park.

We drove in the afternoon of game 1, and game 3 was a matinee for getaway day – so we really only had one free afternoon in town. We toured the Carnegie Museum of Natural History (there’s also a Carnegie Science Center), and had a very nice lunch at (I believe) the Georgetowne Inn, which is right at the top of the Duquesne Incline. The selling point is the view, which is about what you seen in this link: http://travel.nytimes.com/2007/07/20/travel/escapes/20incline.html

The slideshow of the incline was great! I have heard of this and planned to put it on the list.
Thanks for the info!!!

Unclear on where they'll stay

http://www.northsidebaseball.com/Forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=29618

This suggests that last year the Cubs stayed at the Sheraton Station Square.

Apparently the Cubs didn’t release hotel information this year.

That's correct.

Up to this year hotel info was in the media guide. They took it out last year — security reasons, I presume.

One thing...

that’s on my list for my stadium tour is to walk to PNC by way of the Clemente Bridge. I think that would be an awesome way to see the stadium.

I understand

that The Westin is the official hotel of the MLB. I know they stayed there 2 years ago when I took a road trip to PNC. This year I ran into a bunch of the players at the restaurant right outside PNC.

when asked about his performance against the Reds - Lieber said the following
"Well obviously I made some bad pitches today, left to many over the plate and they got good wood on the ball. The only good thing was that I was able to get back into the clubhouse earlier then I planned so I could eat."
