Ryan deserves it.

I can’t think of a better teammate. He has done everything the Cubs have asked during his time in Chicago.

I think today is going to be a BIG game for the Cubs... my predictions.....

Dempster 8 1/3 innings 6 K’s, 4 hits, 2 walks
Ramirez 1 HR, 3 RBI’s
Kosuke 3-4 as a wake up call with a double and an RBI

Cubs win 6-0

I Hate Waste

RISP, uneaten food, hose water when the neighbors go back in the house….I HATE IT

Unrealized Potential

Shoulda hit 400+ HRs and multi Gold Gloves but he was too busy partying and fooling around.

Not To Nitpick But

I saw his first at bat

as a Cub in Cincy and he hit what would have later this season been one of those instant replay boundary calls. they called it a foul ball but it hit the foul pole. He could still probably hit better than DOME.

The one constant has been . . . baseball.

Starting pitcher

Do you think it drives Dempster and the other starters crazy when no runs get scored against a low-end team like the Nats?

And where are my lemon bars, Sue?? It’s 7pm and I’m starting to get hungry but don’t know what to make for dinner, so I need a treat to distract my hunger :)

Well, Dempster is doing his part.

Let’s get the man some runs so he can get his 15th win!

Hey, it's a new century!

Agreed.

I’m always so sad when our pitching is there and we can’t bring the runs in. :(

Nothing more frustrating than out-hitting a team and losing with a quality start. GRRR!

No ledges necessary here.

I’m by no means throwing in the towel, or even pessimistic at the moment—just pointing out something that is (obviously) very frustrating. ;)

Worried The Offense Will Start To Press

Which will prolong the struggles to score runs.

You know, they did score five yesterday

and that’s usually been enough to win.

One game, not even fully complete, does not constitute a struggle.

You get a lot of guys on base

you leave a lot of guys on base. Think this is bad? You should watch a Cardinals game sometime. Seems like every game they leave a ton on base.

Anyway, things are looking up.

I'm In Football Mentality Mode

if you remember our discussion a while back. “Score score score, kill kill kill, smash ’em and destroy ’em!” Been reading my Street and Smith’s NFL Preview a little too much, I guess.

I'm all for going for the jugular

but a 3-2 win is as good as a 10-0 one. Football can wait. :)
