…we all know how fragile Z can be. The guy can be a headcase, and NOT giving him the ball in game 1 – and failing to give him that vote of confidence – could really do more damage than good. Dempster probably has to start game 2, because he’s been fantastic at home. And Harden can beat the piss outta any other team’s #3 starter. That’s the rotation. I don’t see anything up for debate. Lou’s been using Zambrano as the ace the whole year – why would he change it now?

The critical thing to understand is that major-league pitchers don't appear to have the ability to prevent hits on balls in play. There are many possible reasons why this is the case, and I don't really have a concrete idea as to why it is.
But the one thing I do know is that it is the case.
