Where idiots are now getting fired because they should end themselves??

"Aw, how could he (Jorge Orta) lose the ball in the sun, he's from Mexico." -- Harry Carey
if we are behind
and a new thread is due
and sue isn’t around
who announces it?
Are you trying to enlighten us?
If a tree falls but no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound??
Same question, man. Hurts my brain to think about both.

cuz if sue announces it, we do well
if she isn’t?

no need to, yes the cards winning
would pad our lead in the standings. But I will cheer for the cubs to win the next couple games and at the same time not give a lick what happens in Saint Louis considering I cant stand either team.
It's not just that
The Brewers are better than the Cards. They are the 2nd best team in the league. Getting them out of the post season would be a good thing.

a quick calculation...
Cubs have scored 5+ runs in an inning 24 times this year, meaning more than 120 of their season runs have scored in those innings. They’ve played about 1200 innings. Which means… almost 20% of their runs have been scored in less than 2% of their innings played.
I don’t know what it means, if anything, but it makes me smile.
You look like you'd fit in the trunk of my car.
it means
that hitting is contagious, and they score in streaks.

Wow the Pirates announcers just said:
“Don’t play that dumb song that they play at Wrigley when they win” I’ll have to re-watch the archive to get the exact quote.
Not surprising
Remember I made the post a month ago about their commentary on Wrigley last month. People said I was over exxagerating. Now I know I was right.

I've been watching this series on mlb.com
And i’m getting the Pirates announcers. For most of it, they haven’t been overly critical. Although this game, they were complaining about it taking forever and that it was, “one to forget”
They should be happy.
Their team stood toe to toe with the best team in the National League – for a while at least.
Yes, sir!
Actual Quote and context
During the last at bat versus Ryan Doumit one announcer says,
“There are a good number of Cub fans here. The one thing we don’t have to deal with is the dumb Cubs song they play at the end of Cub wins”
Announcer #2: But we might have to look at the big blue W…..Doumit strikes out and we do"
It wasn’t malicious sounding, just kinda dour, and it came after the 2nd announcer was talking about Kerry Wood having a good fast ball. Just was surprised to hear him phrase it like that; although after such a long game and seeing a poorly played game, some resignation can seep through, especially since while they were saying it, the only noise you could hear are the fans shouting “Let’s go Cubbies!”.
Being a Prirates announcer would be really rough.
I’m sure they are just blowing off steam after a long long long bad bad bad bad bad bad bad season.

a while back, pittsburgh
was picking up minor leaguers from cleveland for cash
for ‘organizational depth’. it would be sad
if they weren’t in our division
mets/phiwwies to the 13th.
7 RBI's from the 8 spot.

phillies using their last reliever to start the 13th
one bench hitter left and 3 starting pitchers
Bud Selig is going to get upset
if Charlie Manuel tells the ump he’s run out of pitchers…

Hey Galvan
We were just talking about doing another Cubs-Spiders game the next offday. Would you want to do it? SWL declined.

I see Stevie Eyre pitched 1.2 innings of hitless ball....
Good for him. For whatever reason, Lou just never liked him.

Oh well...
I hate the Mets anyway..

We really need to win tomorrow
The Phillies are hot and battling with the Mets and will give us their ‘A’ game.

True that...
They won’t roll over for us, that’s for sure.

A Soriano hot streak….
You know one of those 20 for 22’s with a bunch of RBI and lets say 8 homers.

How many teams elimated today?
I saw SWL post about magic number.

No more in the NL
Several teams are in the high single digits (6 to 9)
Current temperature in hell: 44 degrees F - and falling!
anyone else left?
who would you rather see in the playoffs? the phillies or the mets?
it’s a tough call bc the phillies have a SCARY lineup with howard, rollins, utley, and pat the bat, but their pitching can’t really match up to us
however the mets are a little bit more rounded, they still have studs in their lineup with wright, beltran, and reyes and a one two punch of santana and pedro……don’t jump on me for giving props to pedro, bc i still believe he has the mentality to win when it means the most (sorta like how i wouldn’t want to see the big unit in the playoffs)
Just got home from the Phillies game
they won in 13 from the Mets.
Don't fear either
team.
Cubs take both. You’ll see this weekend with the Phillies.
Cubs play the way they should. they take 3 of 4
