Its Blanco's Birthday

Why under-cut a guy on his birthday? AND… the Cubs only have 1 catcher on the bench, so if Soto goes in and gets hurt, the Cubs are screwed.

I bet it is hard for any pitcher to overcome

pitching against their former team in a high stress situation, let alone to be a pitcher that didn’t want to leave his former team. That would suck all around.

Hot smash to Lee at first, knocked it down and it began squirting away from him towards second base

he grabs it, twists to throw across his body back to first to Shark covering – Howard lumbers down the line and appeared to beat the throw.

argument goes like this

manuel “my guy beat the throw”

ump “yeah, what of it? i blew the last call. waddle your butt back in the dugout.”

Or...

Manuel: My guy beat the throw

Denkinger: You know it and I know it, but I missed the double play and 42K people here saw me call Howard out. Any more questions?

Let's go easy on The Riot...

Without him, we’re nowhere near 34 over 500.

HUH?!?

Yeah right bud. He adds nothing but cheap singles, and is a negative elsewhere. We’d be just as good w/ Ronny Cedeno starting, probably better.

I have been Switzerland about Great Theriot Debate................

most of the season…. but even I am disgusted by his play in last couple innings. That is not to say Im judging the rest of the season… but today he isnt having a good day.

Hah, it's cool. It does tend to get pretty heated.

I mean, I can see that his average and .OBP have been very good, but is other play is just soooo suspect.

I'm still neutral on him.

Those two mistakes don’t surprise me a bit, but I don’t think Lou’s going to pull him from the lineup.

Yes, sir!

wouldn't make too much sense

he fits in the No. 2 hole pretty well, despite some his his deficiencies. But I think every successful team needs a ‘grind it out’ guy like him
