"Relentless"

That's the word that keeps coming to mind as I watch the '08 Cubs.  They just keep coming after it, and don't stop.

I remember watching a number of the As/Angels games the year the halos won the world series (I live in No. Cal, and had a 3 or 4 year old at the time).  The Angels that year just kept banging out hits.  The Bo Sox two or so years ago were the same way.  Every spot in the order is in play, looking to get on base in any way they can.  Nearly every inning is stressful for the opposing pitcher.

I don't remember a National League team doing it in ths fashion until our beloved men in blue this year.

as I watched last night's game with my neighbor

he was pumping negativity throughout the room. “I worry that if they can’t do it against the Phillies, a good team, that they won’t do it in the playoffs.” In past years I’ve been quick to turn negative, because the Cubs would usually fold in games like last night. But after seeing them do it multiple times this year (vs. COL, vs. FLA a couple weeks ago, etc.) I kept telling him not to worry, that we’d get after it soon. Sure enough IT happened. Unbelievable! Relentless, for sure!
