If a ball bounces out of the basket and lands on the field...

…it can cause issues. It’s also harder to see than the yellow lines at other parks.

There's no reason to make a pitcher work just to make him work.

If you get pitches to hit, then hit them. What you want to encourage is not swinging at pitches you can’t drive. Theriot, for example, squared up the ball as well as Ryan Theriot can, and it just found a defender.

i think it is so funny that espn and big media outlets

made such a huge deal of the bad call yesterday, even though it was a make up call from ealier, im not saying that makes it right, but they could show when howard obstructed lee at first too

…he can make infields play in on him a bit and maybe get a few more holes for him to hit ground balls through. It’s a weapon he should use more often, given his speed, bunting skill and lack of power.

Let's say you have a guy that is able to take pitches on the outside corner...

…and slap them in for singles at a decent clip, say .333. Then you’ve got the heart of the plate, where he hits deep fly balls, and for every four fly balls three get caught on the warning track and one leaves for a home run.

Where would you rather pitch him at in a key situation?

I'm a vendor and don't get to watch games all that often,

but does Lilly always pitch inside this much. He is feasting on the inner portion of the plate. I have heard he is one of the biggest inside pitchers in the fame, but I haven’t really seen him do it.
