The date on that photo is June 9, 2007.

Odd. The Cubs weren’t home that day — they were in Atlanta.

They weren’t home on June 9, 2008, either — it was an off day.

The scoreboard is too blurry to read the matchups from that night. Guess we’ll never know.

Cool photo, though.

Let me take a stab at it!!

I can tell from the Budweiser building that it isn’t from this year, and from the bleacher expansion it is sometime in the last few years. The Scoreboard seems to say “Arizona Diamondbacks at Chicago Cubs” with what looks like Arizona’s “A” logo.

Of course, we can tell it’s a night game during a rain delay of some sort, either before or during the game.
When Arizona visited in 2007, they played three games with good weather according to the boxscore. In 2006, the D’Backs were in town and had a game on August 2nd cancelled at the last minute due to weather (which, Al, led to your sons first doubleheader). Also, there are two finished games listed on the AL side of the scoreboard.

It’s my prediction this picture was thus taken August 2, 2006

What do I win!?!?!

There is no place like Nebraska - Go Huskers!

Ignore the part about two finished games on the AL scoreboard

I was gonna try to find game times for that day and see that there were 2 day games in the AL that would of finished up, but can’t find it easily in box scores

My research still stands, though!

OK, here's more.

The photo had to be taken in 2006. Why? Because that was the only year with the NEW bleachers — but NO Under Armour ad on the doors, which was added in 2007. It had to be a game vs. the Diamondbacks, as noted above, there’s definitely an “A” logo on the message board.

The D’backs were in Chicago for one series in 2006 — a four-game series which was supposed to be three night games and a day game. There were no weather issues for the first two games, and the third, on August 2, was rained out, as you note above, that was my son Mark’s first doubleheader.

Well done. August 2, 2006 has to be the date.
