Around SBN: Steve McNair Found Shot to Death

What is your record this season?

How have the Cubs played in the games you've seen them in person?

My record this year is much better than usual -- 7-3.

1-2 in Cincinnati (saw Dempster's hard-luck loss and Lieber's bombing)

2-1 in Toronto (Burnett outduels Gallagher, Cubs roll in the last two games)

4-0 in Milwaukee (Enough said).

Still have three more games in Cincy, plus I might pick up a game in August at Wrigley and maybe one game in St. Louis in September. (And who knows, maybe back at Miller Park for that last series.)

This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of SB Nation or Al Yellon, editor-in-chief (unless it's a FanPost posted by Al). FanPost opinions are valued expressions of opinion by passionate and knowledgeable baseball fans.

Hope You Make It to Busch

Well, those tickets to Cubs-Cardinals games are expensive and hard to get. I hope there’s an allowance in your schedule and your wallet to see the Cubs at Busch before this season is over.

Cheers!

I’m hoping I can too. Money’s not the issue, it’s finding em and my desire to not pay over and above. The Cardinals have a pretty good website for season ticket holders to sell off spares. Here’s hoping.

You automatically remembered I live in St Louis. I think I’m visiting this board too much.

My 1st ever game at Wrigley was the game when we gave up 7 HRs to the Reds, followed the next day by the win against San Francisco when Aramis hit the 3-run HR in the bottom of the 8th to break a scoreless tie.

Saw the Pirates defeat this last week. The players looked a bit flat and tired after the MIL sweep. You’re always gonna look flat when you get shut out, though.

I'm right there with you

I saw the second game of the year, vs. MIL. The first pitch of Cubs’ ball I saw this year was a Rickie Weeks HR off Lilly, and the Brewers went on to win 8-2. Hopefully I’ll make it 2-1 when I go to Wrigley 9/17-18 to see the boys play MIL again!

I was at the May 31 game vs. Colorado at Wrigley. Just off the top of my head here: Dempster on the mound for the Cubs, former Cub Glendon Rusch pitched for the Rockheads. Soriano homered. RJ and Dome both made outstanding catches in the outfield. Demp hit a double as well. Marmol did give up a home run to Scotty Pods in the ninth, but the Cubs hung on to win 5-4.

A Miserable 2-3

Two games of the lousy Baltimore series in June (1-1)
All three of the lousy series in Houston after the AS Break (2-3)

Seeing as we live in Texas, my wife and I won’t hamper the Cubs with our obviously back luck any more this season, but will wait for a clean slate next year, and listen to them from the comfort of our own home. Where we are 65-43!

With Cubs legend Ron Santo...

The cubs have been great to me this year too. The only loss i’ve seen was during the brewers series in april- it was also the coldest i’ve been at wrigley

Gotta love those home games

Just browsing through, I have only noticed a handfull of losing records, many of which have taken place on the road.

9-1

The Cubs are currently 8-1 at home, 1-0 on the road when I attend; the only loss I witnessed in person this year was to SF, the day before the All-Star Break.

Since 2004 (my first year with season tickets), my records are:

2004: 10-2, .833 (Cubs overall winning percentage: .549)
2005: 8-7, .533 (overall: .488)
2006: 7-7, .500 (overall: .407)
2007: 7-6, .538 (overall: .525)

Any day now, the Cubs are going to realize it’s worth their while to pay me to attend every game… :)
