K is the middle letter of strikeout.
Sounds good to me, right?

Harry Chadwick invented it way back when
it was short for ‘struck’ which was more common than strikeout at the time

Whoah there...
I think 2003 Prior has to go into consideration too.
I mean, based purely on performance, Harden is the best most of us have EVER seen (remember – we didn’t have Maddux in his prime). But let’s let him keep doing it.
Power versus control...different skill set.
..If Harden learns how to think like Maddux, look out….

51 through 4 innings. Nice pace. Let’s keep it rolling.
I'd say he has a chance for 7 if he keeps his inning avg up
is avg. about 13 pithches an inning- 5th would 64, 6th would 77, 7th would be 90… might go longer since he will have 6 days rest next start
and if the offense extends it...
wood and howry to finish

If we score at least 1 next inning – something… just to stop the momentum…
Wait a minute... who am I here?
Theriot was shaded toward the bag
the ball was hit where the SS would normally play. He wasn’t that far away, and it looked like he got to it, but he didn’t, it went under his glove.
Aramis threw up his hands in the air, disgusted.
(Not sure if he was disgusted at his teammate, or just at bad luck.)

"Whoever wants to know the heart and mind of America had better learn baseball." - Jacque Barzun
I mean.....he had 8 Ks and 1 BB. He just had some hits fall, and the second
HR came when someone was on….basically what I am saying is, when you have 8 Ks and a single walk (to the last batter), there shouldn’t be anything to worry about. If they were unlucky and hit to our guys, we would be discussing another dominant start by Harden. I’m guessing he actually just was throwing too much in the zone today, with the ridiculous strike/ball ratio.

If he always kept the ball down as well as he had in his previous Cubs starts,
then I think he’d be pretty much at an all-time great talent level. When you have a strikeout pitcher with ridiculous stuff, you’re going to have days where too many pitches are left up. He’ll be fine. Still has one of the lowest ERAs in the league by far.
