let's HOLD THEM.
’’If somebody had told me we were going to lose Soriano for eight weeks, lose [Carlos] Zambrano and Kerry Wood for a couple of weeks apiece, and then at the same time lose [Reed] Johnson, and then when we played the American League not have a DH [then-injured Daryle Ward], and be in first place by two games, I’d tell you we were pretty fortunate.’’ Lou Piniella (7/23/08)

That was unbelievable

Lee should be walked every time up against the Cubs
That ones on lou, don't know what the hell he is thinking there
Don’t let there best hitter beat you, my god
"This is why Major League Baseball does not need instant replay, because then every single play will then be reviewed." -- Joe Morgan, 5/18/08, referring to an umpire ruling a Carlos Delgado homerun foul when replays showed it hit the foul pole.
Howry is our worst nightmare, not Lee
Pinella should get booed for EVER pitching him. He gives up a HR every time.
I sensed this coming after the 2 run HR last inning
Still – to Carlos Lee with 1B open???
Wait a minute... who am I here?
I dont encourage running on the field, but howry needs it
last year after that incident is when he finally turned it around
Why
Can someone please explain to me why the Cubs continue to treat Carlos Lee like he’s Carlos Santana? After nearly a decade of killing them, they have not yet ONCE smoked Lee with a pitch. Not ONCE. See Tim Hudson’s treatment of Soriano after his 3-HR game a year ago and all sorts of other examples of how to get a hitter off the plate. Plant one on Lee and if it still doesn’t work, keep planting them on him until it does. It’s that simple.
Who needs a stinkin' tag line? What are they for anyway?
Please note my earlier comment:
I’d have preferred that Carlos Lee be missing from the lineup, rather than Berkman.
Does anyone know Lee’s lifetime stats vs. the Cubs? Ever since that grand slam he hit with the Sox against the Cubs in 200?, I’ve been a-feared of him.
Lee is hitting .315 with 25 HR and 71 RBI in 88 games vs. the Cubs
entering today.

2008 Cubs: Who needs nine innings, when you only need a 7th?
but............
shouldnt OUR 3 -4 hitters get at least a run in with 1st and 3rd no out?
Down 1, seventh inning.
Get those rally caps on, folks, we got’s us a ballgame to win!
Ideas are bulletproof.
I'd rather
Take my chances on that one than have Howry the HR machine pitch to Lee the HR machine. That’s like HR ^ 2
We can still win this...
This is the Houston Astros, after all.

in from 3rd with 0 out, all we needed was a flyball fairly deep and they couldn’t produce. then bringing in the worst relief pitcher on the team in the 7th

does Fonzie do that with an 0-2 count. Any pitch off the plate I have to say Soriano would have swung at it.
They should set off the tornado siren for all Cub homers going forward
there may be confusion and chaos at first, but over time, fans will embrace. And maybe Howry can go down to the minors and work on developing a first pitch. He used to have one pitch, a fastball. Now he has none.
