Around SBN: Jerry Sandusky's Wife Tries To Run A Reporter Over

I like Doug Glanville

and he has written another New York Times column, this one about being traded.  Yes, he mentions the Cubs a few times.

Even if he had not referenced our beloved team, this would be a good read.  Doug is a good writer and has a way of imparting the feel of the club house.

And, he provides short-notice moving tips:

I had my moving plan: I would pack as much as I could possibly carry on the flight to Chicago, then clear out my apartment and jam everything I could into my car. Then, on the Cubs next trip to Houston, I would catch a plane to Dallas, meet up with an auto shipping company and have my car shipped to Chicago. Amazingly, it all went off without a glitch.

Check it out while you wait for the Cubs/Cards game to start!

I'll never forget Doug...

Coming over to a group of us at an Iowa Cubs game in 95 or 96 and signing autographs. He signed a ball for the younger brother of a friend of mine who was wearing a Cardinals cap. He said something like “you’re wearing the wrong cap, man,” but signed it anyway. Good memories.

Proud recipient of a hot dog shot from the Iowa Cubs hot dog gun.

Doug is a good guy.

My nephew, (who is a year older than me)- works with Doug in the west suburbs. I’ve met Doug, he is a really down to earth, very intelligent individual. He was a heck of an outfielder in his day.

Great person

Ivy Grad, good Cub. Remember the 3 run triple in the 2003 NCLS.

Doug is great

One of my favorite Doug stories involves his time with the Phillies. My cousin (who was 5 years old at the time) had just finished the usual bevy of elementary school valentine’s day cards. When his parents asked him if he left anyone out, he informed them of the three most important personages that were omitted

1) God
2) Santa Claus
3) Doug Glanville

Doug Glanville

He was the guest speaker yesterday for a private party I worked at Wrigley for Bank Of America. He spoke for longer than he was asked and answered questions from people and signed autographs, he genuinely loves the Cubs and the fans. Class act all the way
