Poetry in honor of the Theriot-Fontenot-Lee double play

These are the saddest of possible words:
Tinker to Evers to Chance.
Trio of bear cubs, and fleeter than birds,
Tinker and Evers and Chance.
Ruthlessly pricking our gonfalon bubble,
Making a Giant hit into a double—
Words that are heavy with nothing but trouble:
Tinker to Evers to Chance.

Can we all get a card together...

...for Ludwick with his career stats on it, kind of a reminder of how much he sucks? Seriously.

by cwyers on Aug 9, 2008 4:50 PM CDT reply actions

Is there a way to project what would be "expected" of Ludwick based on his Minor League numbers?

"I've never complained about it. I'm thankful to have a jersey." Mark DeRosa, 22 Aug 2007

by DeRoMyHero on Aug 9, 2008 4:53 PM CDT up reply actions

OK, what would you expect from DeRo based on Minor League equivalencies?

I’m not disagreeing with your statement on Ludwick at all—it does seem weird that he’s suddenly an all-star.

It just seems strange that there are a handful of players that aren’t A (or even B+) level prospects that end up being good everyday players, and there are guys like Lopez that consistently underachieve.
