Go Reds!
Your 2008 Missouri Tigers! #6 2-0 (0-0). Next up Saturday home vs. Nevada. Chase for Heisman!
I get the Reds feed on AFN...
I was almost hoping for the Brewers one to listen to their excuses! Damn!

The strangest Sept. call-up ever
Cincinnati called up their AAA play-by-play announcer and is giving him the start today over Thom Brennaman and George Grande.

A win by the Reds is too much to ask for
They took two in a row bless them. Phillips also injured himself getting the game winning hit last night and is probably out for the season. We should chip in and send him some bagels.

The ONLY way the Reds win
Is if Arroyo is lights out and they make CC throw enough pitches to go make Brewers go to bullpen.

Forget that plan
After getting CC to throw 18 pitches in the first , the Reds went down on 7 pitches in the 2nd.
Perhaps if the Red’s players all came to the plate with a sausage in their hands instead of a bat
CC would just throw wildly and walk in runs while hoping to eat them.

Game over...
oh well, couldn’t expect the Reds to sweep on the road, could we? Reminds me of Cubs game last night…missed opportunities to add to the lead…comeback, etc.
We need you tonight, Lilly!

Why?
It’s only twice as many posts the actual game thread @ Evil BCB has.

There were hundreds of posts for Mil and StL games when Cubs were in winning streaks too.

who like to watch baseball congregate and talk about a game. That just burns my arse.

Good job, Reds.

Yeah, they did make them work for it.
And at least CC looked semi-human in this game. They may have lost Kapler for a while, too (not that I’m celebrating his injury or anything).

CC's had a few outings with a lot of hits given up
He’s stranded the runners, tho

Oh yeah...
…just lookin’ at his gamelogs here…he gave up 11 hits to the Astros on 8/18. I believe today’s game ties the most earned runs he’s given up since joining the Brewers, though. The last team to score 3 ERs on CC? The Cubs.

Hard to complain about the closest opponent going 3-7 at home
And it could have easily been 0-10. Losing with CC on the mound would have really damaged their psyche — that’s a bigger loss than the 1/2 game in the standings.
Pulling this game out will give them a lift, but if they don’t get off on the right foot tomorrow night against Philly, they’ll get tight again. Especially if the Phils win today to stay w/in 3.
Bottom line, Cubs need to start winning themselves.

would have been nice if the reds could have won today
but they did take 2 out 3 up there.
Long story short.
the cubs need to put on their big boy shoes and start winning a few games. otherwise it doesn’t matter what else happens.
