CC Sabathia's start in Wednesday's series finale against the Reds was initially questioned, but now that they're facing a sweep, the Brewers realize they need their ace.

The strangest Sept. call-up ever

Cincinnati called up their AAA play-by-play announcer and is giving him the start today over Thom Brennaman and George Grande.

A win by the Reds is too much to ask for

They took two in a row bless them. Phillips also injured himself getting the game winning hit last night and is probably out for the season. We should chip in and send him some bagels.

May the gentle folksinger Arroyo defeat the Hundred-Plus-Pitch Monster Sabathia.

The ONLY way the Reds win

Is if Arroyo is lights out and they make CC throw enough pitches to go make Brewers go to bullpen.

"I am not ashamed to say I love Greg Maddux" - Jim Hendry

by Doggie Stalker on Sep 10, 2008 1:28 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

So CC needs to throw...what...150?

"I see the playoff schedule posted in the paper, and that stuff makes me nervous because you can't take anything for granted. We have a great team. We have a really good team. We're playing well, but we haven't won yet." - Jim Edmonds, 8/31/08

by dat cubfan daver on Sep 10, 2008 1:30 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Forget that plan

After getting CC to throw 18 pitches in the first , the Reds went down on 7 pitches in the 2nd.
Perhaps if the Red’s players all came to the plate with a sausage in their hands instead of a bat
CC would just throw wildly and walk in runs while hoping to eat them.

Sean Gallagher is making his return from the DL against the Tigers. He has not allowed a hit through 4.0 however he just loaded the bases on walks only to escape with a fly out to left and has 6 walks for the game to go with 6 K’s.

This game should be delayed on account of shadows.

On the bright side (no pun intended), this one should be over quickly, assuming one of the two teams scratches across a run.
