EI is always blacked out on Sunday nights.

It’s an ESPN exclusive. Only local broadcasts allowed in games not carried on ESPN Sunday nights.

The game is on MLB.TV, though. A 1 day pass costs approximately $8.

by Fraggin Judge on Sep 14, 2008 9:07 PM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

Really....wow!

I bought it last year and there were so many blackouts I just got the radio for this year…..I guess things ain’t changed.

If the…..er……current situation with Z holds up into the 9th. they might make the video available via MLB.COM – they did that in a similar sitch earlier this year……small consolation, I know…..I’m audio-only, too.

Astro fans want to congratulate us!

From the Crawfish Boxes Blog:

I just wanna say eff you to Bud Selig, Zambrano and every Cubs fan in the world. And Jim Edmonds, for good measure.

But, hey, the Cubs fans can have a no hitter. We can hand them a few extra of ours. We’ve got about a billion of them we don’t need.

His anger is misplaced. It should be at the Astros owner.

Bad Karma for Drayton McLayne. (spell may be incorrect) Ike was hitting Houston, and he was still pleading the game be played there. I don’t swear very much, but this guy is a major asshole. The city’s getting pummelled, and all this guy can think about is his box office.

Selig and MLB wasted too much time setting up contingency plans.

“He had everything going, from the first few pitches of the ballgame.”

“Just a great game.”

“You know, we needed this. We’ve been struggling, we’ve been struggling.”

“You know, you don’t expect it. You wanna see him throw the ball well…but you don’t expect a masterpiece like this though.”

(Reporter asks about electricity of crowd)

“What was the attendance?” “23.” “23? They [fans] seemed electric.”

Has anyone heard where MLB is on ending the stupid blackouts?

We'll be all right if we can just get back on the expressway.

Amazing

One of the greatest things I have ever witnessed, my body was shaking in the 8th and 9th.

"I play for them," Soriano said quietly at his locker Saturday after a mob around him cleared. "I want to play great for them because I know it means so much to them."

wow the Cubs pitching staff loves to dominate the Astros hitters

1998 – Kerry Wood’s 20 K performance
2008 – Zambrano’s no hitter
2018 – hmm…lets say Shark pitches well..

Wow

Caught the last two pitches.

First No-No of my Cubs fandom and life. Way to go, Z! I actually had just remarked that I was surprised he hadn’t had one of these, just a week ago. So happy with the Cubs now!

Long Time Lurker

I have been reading you guys and gals for three years, but this is my first comment. I am just so moved by watching Z tonight. I knew he had it in him, but that was so great. I wish I could have seen it. I’ll catch the Archive on MLB. Just wanted to say thanks for the last three years, and I’m a dizzy, excited Cubs fan as I hit the sheets.

Way to go Zambrano, way to go.
