A No-No for Big Z!!!

I live only a stones throw from the park with my two roommates.  My roommate Steve  DVRs games he watches. He is a nut. But tonite, he is on suicide watch. He decided to watch Entourage AND DVR Entourage instead of watching a great moment in Cubbies history.

I was shocked to see Big Z go into the 7th even with a no hitter.  I figured they would have a pitch count or inning max on him.

And that is why I am not a manager and got bounced out of my FB league in the first round.  I dont know squat.

I am still ticked off about Selig sending money to his family/brewers by putting the game in Miller Park, but after Big Z pitched a No-No Selig can go suck on a brat.

This is what Z did...

… he knelt down beside the mound with both hands straight up into the air. He looked up, and unleashed the mighty roar of victory!

Most Astro’s agreed that it sounded like the roar of Godzilla.

Go figure!

I swear I'm not making this up...

…but I was at a hardware store with my daughter and wife today, and we bought one of the Cubs gnomes. After some discussion, my daughter and i decided to name it Carlos Zambragnome. Seriously. It’s in our front yard right now. I’ll post a fanshot in the next few days. Dead serious, people.

RESPECT THE GNOME!!!

lol, +1

DeRosa: And who is the best and who is the worst card player?

Dempster: I think the best is yourself. [ . . .] I think the worst player is D-Lee. I think he bets every time just to bet.

OT: steve phillips

he just said that Zambrano’s no-no was suprising because he shouldnt be pitching 9 innings after having tendonitis……stupid met, i hate espn, congrats to carlos.

When I saw Steve's face...

I muted my TV. I knew he’d say something stupid and I didn’t want to hear it.

I bleed blue... and red, but that's not my fault. I didn't get to choose that one.

Making a formal request:

2 fanshots-

WGN 720 radio reaction

Video of Darin Erstad’s K, reaction

I’d do this myself but my broken laptop that I sent to HP for repair is probably floating in a warehouse somewhere in downtown Houston.

Oh MY GOD!

That’s amazing!

I don’t know what to say.

Well other than Congratulations to Big Z and the Cubs!

Oh, and thanks WGN for not showing it where I live.

Also, let’s worry about winning our next game. I had to say it.

by Snake Plisskin on Sep 14, 2008 10:47 PM CDT   0 recs

I'm sure WGN would've been happy to put the game on their Superstation

You can thank ESPN & MLB for not allowing WGN to show the game where you live.

And thanks MLB.TV...

for archiving the Houston feed after making both feeds available live…..

That’s exactly the feed that people who wanna go back and watch it wanna see… the feed of the team who just got no-hit and their awful announcers.

Incredible, isn't it?

My next sig line quote will also be from Lou Piniella, and the first word will be either "Look", or "Listen", followed by a comma.

I was lucky

and was able to watch the game in hd on wgn in canada. i sat down just as sori hit his homer and didnt realize it was a no-no til the sixth inning. i really loved carlos catching that foul ball down the first base line. what a performance!

Phillips showed why he is still an analystk, and not working in baseball tonight

Was he implying Lou takes out Big Z? Unless his arm is literally falling off, or he asks to be taken out you do not deny a player a shot at history. This put Z into a special category. And, on 12 days rest 110 pitches wasn’t such a big risk with the way Z was throwing. Lou would have needed a SWAT team to keep Z off the hill if he’d tried to tell him he wasn’t going out for the 9th and he really needed Woody to get an inning. For that matter, Woody would have told Lou to get bent, he wouldn’t go in during a no-hitter.

i didn't realize his pitch count was so low

i wanted him to be pulled after seven to save his arm.

until i ran the numbers on the pitch count.
