I Cannot Believe What I Just Heard
With appologies to Jack Buck, the Baseball Gods are truly with the Cubs!! We have weathered the storm of a bad slump and we get the gift of....a baseball game in Milwaukee....and a no hitter by Carlos Zambrano!!
Thanks to the technology of my wife's iphone, we followed the game as best we could. I kept thinking to myself why Zambrano wasn't taken out (to preserve his arm). But man, he didn't throw many pitches. It's been 10+ years since we have seen a true gem, but I'm so happy that Zambrano got this done!!
I've been on the nay-sayer side of the recent slump, so maybe this gives us the push needed to finish the Central and then go on from there!!
Go Cubs Go!!!!

The Zambra-no-no...
Let my ashes blow in a beautiful snow from the prevailing 30 mile an hour southwest wind...
When my last remains go flying over the left field wall, I'll bid the bleacher bums adieu,
And I will come to my final resting place, out on Waveland Avenue. --Steve Goodman

Only three fanposts on the no-no?
C’mon, damnit. I want one for every inning! Get to it!
CONGRATS TO BIG Z!!!

just wait... the right hand side will be overflowing in about 90 minutes...
Everyone who was at the game is gonna want to writer their own fanpost as soon as they get home about what it was like seeing it live.

Should I start a fanpost about the fanposts?

By my count...
…we’re up to seven fanposts. If another one goes up, I may put up the ninth just to fulfill my dream of seeing one for every inning of last night’s game.

I feel a lot better about the postseason all of a sudden.....
DeRosa: And who is the best and who is the worst card player?
Dempster: I think the best is yourself. [ . . .] I think the worst player is D-Lee. I think he bets every time just to bet.

I heard this debate on the Final Word.....
Who do the Cubs send out for the first game of a playoff series?
Dempster?
Harden?
Zambrano?
Does this no-hitter make Big Z #1 again?
I think Zambrano should be sent out.
Thoughts?

We're not in the playoffs...
At least not yet.
Let’s worry about winning our next game.

OH MY GOD!
I don’t know what to say.
Well other than Congratulations to Big Z and the Cubs!
Oh, and thanks WGN for not showing it where I live.
Also, let’s worry about winning our next game. I had to say it.

I would also like to thank ESPN for graciously switching from their coverage of the White Sux game so we could at least see the ninth inning (though listening to Pat and Ron was better)

It wasn't WGN's fault.
They couldn’t show the game out of the local Chicago market because of ESPN’s national exclusivity on Sunday nights according to the current TV contract. At least they showed the complete game on MLB.TV (It’s usually blacked out on Sunday night) and ESPN showed the last inning live.
Now you know why Al and a lot of fans don’t like those TV blackouts.

If you're referring to me, I was only joking.
