Need help from seasoned public transportation rider

How easy is it to get on the 152 westbound bus (Addison/Clark to Blue Line) after a game? Specifically, the Cubs/Cards game this Saturday. Because Fox picked up the game and the time got moved back, I have it pretty tight to catch a flight out of O’Hare and would like to catch the entire game if I can. TIA

To be perfectly honest

To be perfectly honest I recommend taking a taxi to at least meet the blue line.

Go Cubs

If you're in a hurry, take a cab.

Otherwise, take the Blue Line until you can transfer to the Red Line at Clark and Lake. That’s wahat I did two weeks ago. It will take more than an hour to get to the ballpark if you do that. Go here to plan your train or bus trip.

I get it now. You're leaving after the game. My bad.

If it’s so tight, your best option is a cab. Otherwise, with time do what I wrote above, but backwards, Red Line to Clark and Lake, and transfer there to the Blue Line. I wouldn’t bother with the bus from Wrigley, though. It will be full and will take more time to get to your destination.

What we do...

I do not know how much time you will have but….

As soon as the game is over….run, dont walk, dont sing GCG, to the bus which will be waiting for you in front of the park on the NE Corner of Addison and Clark facing west.

Then, when you get to the blue line…hustle down those steps to the platform.

I dont think you will have much luck getting a cab but if you do see one, that is a good option too….

All depends on time.

Take a cab

They don’t mess around with traffic either. My girlfriend and I took one from Wrigley to downtown a few weeks ago after a night game, and it took me about 15 minutes. My buddies took the train and didn’t get back for a few hours. They were sober when they got back to the hotel.

other options...

I ride the 152 every day and can tell you it’s going to be a nightmare around the ball park after the game is over. I’m not sure what your time frame is, but I would suggest walking north to Irving Park Road and riding that over to the Blue Line.

The farther you get from the ball park, the better your life will be. If you do decide to ride the addison bus, make sure you don’t get on the Cubs Express bus since it doesn’t stop at the Blue Line.

Thank you all

for your help. If I can find a cab, I’ll grab it. My flight is at 8:45 so as long as the game is over by 6 I think I’ll be fine.

for best cab results...

I would recommend walking south on Clark or west on Addison to catch cabs coming into Wrigleyville after the game. I would try to get a few blocks away from the stadium before getting in a cab.

OT: Baseball alive at old Tiger Stadium site
I have to admit, i didn't expect this to work, and i generally don't condone ratting somebody out, but i think Woo Woo inspires special circumstances.

He was a few rows above me and a group of maybe a hundred other University of Iowa alumni last night, and started right in with the wooing early and loud. Between innings, he was... how shall i say this... creeping around? We all know his reputation.

Within 10 minutes of making a complaint to the Cubs text line, he was gone. Might be worth trying in future instances.

Sorry for the crappy picture quality... just got a new phone (HTC EVO) and am not sure how to take screen caps yet.
